Triple Amen for me too - see message

This idea that is trying to be spewed that the whole world supports Obama, the whole world is behind him, every person around the whole world now loves America because the O is it. Sure maybe there are a few zombies walking around chanting O-b-a-m-a, but this article is one of hundreds that see what has happened. They say it like it is....we're just screwed.

I am not a religious person, but....I believe everyone has a right to their opinion/beliefs. If someone in public is speaking religious stuff and I don't want to hear it I walk by, hum to myself or whatever. Within seconds that person is no longer within hearing distance. If I don't want to see the 10 commandment I look the other way. If I don't want to hear some baloney on TV I change the channel. I do believe our constitution guarantees us right as human beings. Nowhere in the constitution does it mention about religion (as far as I know - I could be wrong). As for the posts I always say, you don't like it move on and don't give it a second thought. As long as people don't try to "covert" me I'm fine. But if people have things to say that are half political/have religous I don't care and I'm certainly not going to try to shut them down. I'm a conservative. I believe in free speech.

On another note my sister told me in the hometown I grew up in (population about 10,000) every year since before I was born the city would put out the decorations, lights, trees, bows, stars and they even starting playing Christmas music on a street. Everyone was always in the Christmas mood and most everyone knew everyone. Last year (or maybe it was the year before) someone who is an Athiest tried to pursue legally to have the decorations removed and the music stopped. Then come to find out he said he only went into town once or twice a week to do something (very small town (1 street with a bank, convenience store, post office, and some mom and pop stores). Now just because I am not religious I know there are other people who are and I have to respect what they would like too. If I didn't like it I would not go into the town. I think that's what the courts told him too. So go ahead and believe what you want, just please don't try to convert me (and I've never heard anyone trying to convert people here on this board).
What I said is that a triple IQ would be a welcome change
That is a positive statement that supports the notion of an IQ, i.e., intelligence quotient, as in some intelligent leadership. There is nothing there about high or low. I just want leadership that demonstrates some semblance of intelligence.

It does not matter if W's IQ is 1000. If it speaks stupid, thinks stupid, looks stupid and acts stupid, the chances are, it's, well, stupid.

I don't spend any time on the sites that speculate about IQ or report widely varying ranges of the IQs of candidates or EITHER party, since those claims can produce nothing more than a subjective conclusion. I also do not pursue illogical arguments which state Obama's SAT/LSAT scores in one breath and in next, accuse him of not releasing that information. For me, SAT scores and IQs scores are 2 mutually exclusive concepts unless and until someone produces a resource that can argue otherwise.

Here's the fact. I accused no one of anything. I made a simple statement that a triple-digit IQ would be good for the country, implying someone who can walk the walk and talk the talk. Since my reply was within the context of Bushisms, which any self-respecting American can agree are embarrassing and not worthy of the highest office in the land, I did not feel the need to conduct exhaustive research in support of somebody else's statements.

I want smart leadership. So sue me.
Triple-digit IQ will be a welcome change for the country.
These would be downright hysterical if they weren't so horribly embarrassing.
Bush's IQ is between 125 to 129 - that sounds like triple digits to me
Or have you bought into the lie that it's below 100. Based on his SAT scores his IQ is rated at 125. Based on Obama's SAT/LSAT scores his IQ ranges between 115-120.

Like the poster said below, a high IQ does not equate to wisdom.
I've heard that natural gas heating costs are expected to TRIPLE this winter!

I have gas heat, and so does my daughter.

Your mother is fortunate to have you and your sisters to help her.  Makes me worry about all the elderly people barely scraping by on Social Security who have no family.  I guess they and the other poor people are just considered to have no value and are disposable.  I guess someday I'll be disposable, as well.

I totally agree with what Putin said.  Of ALL the places in the world to force change upon, the Middle East is probably the worst one!  Change does have to come from within.  Their culture is so different from ours, and I believe we should respect all cultures that are different from ours.  Sometimes I wonder who would win an election in Iraq if Saddam was suddenly back on the ballot. When Bush debated Gore in 2000, Bush claimed to be against nation building (though he said Cheney was in favor of it, which leads me to believe that Cheney really IS running the administration, as has often been alleged).

I always watch closely when Putin and Bush have press conferences.  Putin should be called Pukin because he's always got this look of disgust on his face, as if he's about to run out of patience with Bush and his idiocy.

I remember when we first began to brag that the Cold War is over.  I always thought that was a stupid thing to say, because it's never over till it's over.  History will be the judge of that.  I often wondered how a country full of people who were accustomed to having their vital needs met by their government as a RIGHT, rather than a privilege, could possibly survive in the dog-eat-dog, sometimes unscrupulous atmosphere of capitalism.  As far as I know, Putin isn't all that enamored with capitalism, and I'm just waiting for Russia to once again become communistic or maybe socialistic.  I guess time will tell.

Amen, JTBB, Amen!!
Just because Bush and his cronies wanted to break the law and did so, does not make it right. I don't care how much these right wing basket cases howl over this, wrong is wrong!

I was appalled during the Bush' time in office at what he and Cheney were doing, thumbing their nose at the rest of the world, meting out their own "cowboy" justice..right or wrong. THAT is why the rest of the world now hates us - no matter what lame excuses the brainwashed majority on this board want to accept.

I am glad they will not be getting away with it.

They are criminals. Period. End of story.
Amen, Zville MT, Amen
That is a great idea. They should have to live like us so they have a clue what we are going through.

Amen to nothing, MT..Do you honestly think with your ideology that any GOD would accept you?  You are a cold hearted fool with an ancient ideology which helps no one.  Blah..Get back, fool.

With exception of rape of course people can also choose to keep their pants on and/or use birth control.  Abstinence is the best contraception....

However, more often than not, I have found liberals can dish it out but they just can't take it.
Amen!
I get so tired of hearing outright lies when people know they are lies, they just want to spread things so "their guy/girl" wins.
AMEN!
I can't believe I agree with him on something, but I'm a big enough person to admit that he's right on this issue! :)

I very much agree that more attention needs to be drawn to the soldiers who are fighting and coming back injured and broke financially. It's a disgrace.
AMEN!!!
As much as I've written about not liking Obama, I also don't like McCain, although that's probably who I'll end up voting for. But you're absolutely right about everything you said and I wish we had some better choices this election. I really can't remember, though, when it's been easy to pick what turns out to be the lesser of two evils - unfortunately.

Life is a precious miracle and should be treated as such.  Making that kind of money is ridiculous.  Why don't they "give back" and help prevent these pregnancies from even happening.

Major embarassment isn't the half of it. I'm with you!!!  I guess I should have dumbed it down for some as the "facts" some are clamoring for were not gleaned from mainstream media.........Yes, Bill lied about his cigar incident and if I had a teenage daughter who would have to wear my "crime" of adultery - I probably would have lied, too. At least Bill's lie didn't kill anybody.

Why should I have to help bail out those that made unwise choices on how they spend their money?

We are already working double-time to bail ourselves out from our own unwise spending choices.  We've learned from those mistakes and have made radical changes in the way we spend and save.

No need to apologize for going on about Algore -he's a joke! But I guess that's the way of thinking for some of those up on Capital Hill - telling all of us to do as they say and not as they do. Palin was correct, it is part of the climate and a natural process - if the earth weren't warming, we'd be headed for another ice age. Then I guess Algore would go into the snow mobile business. LOL!

The whole thing is insane.  I don't want to hear all this.  I want to know the important stuff, like....oh, I dunno, issues like the economy, war, etc.  Somehow I walked away from three presidential debates not knowing much more than before they started and all that has been done since is a bunch of negative attacks.  I wish we could just go back to the drawing board and get some new candidates.

I am happy to see that the President-Elect is already working on the problem and wants to hit the ground running. A lot of American's have put a lot of faith in this man, myself included. My prayers will be going out to him. Bush may not have done the damage directly, but he is indirectly responsible with his refusal to allow oversight and deregulation. Anyway, we are on the way, I hope, and the Bush years are almost over. Maybe even fewer MT jobs will be outsourced when Obama is in, since they will not (hopefully) be getting tax rewards for doing it!

Amen!
I am relieved to see the new President-Elect is already working on getting the ball rolling. American's are putting a lot of faith in this man, me included. Here's hoping!
