Is how the levee money was diverted from levees PRE-Katrina. This deferment was done by the local government. The levee situation is hardly entirely the federal government's fault. There is state and local corruption in New Orleans of unprecendented levels. The federal response was bad, but not nearly as bad as the local and state apathy. They are even now diverting local, federal, and state money that is supposed to be going for rebuilding to their own pet projects none of which are benefiting the residents.

But..you see, we liberals arent supposed to point fingers or ask questions, at least that is what the radical right wing is spouting..however, there is no doubt if there was a democrat in the White House, the radical right wing would be asking for his head on a silver platter.
McCain is shameful!
John McCain has no business being nominated to run for President of the United States under any circumstances. I don't care what kind of flag pin he wears or how he sacrificed for this Country by being shot down from a plane and held as a POW. He has absolutely no credibility and no meaningful plans to help make the United States of America become a better Country. Without a doubt, he will destroy whatever is left of this Country and run it so far into the ground, we may never recover.
On the other hand, I listened to Barack Obama speaking to the citizens of Wisconsin last night, and I was absolutely mesmerized. Everything Barack Obama said was logical, easy to understand, and made perfect sense. He outlined his plans in a way that every single man and woman listening could understand exactly what he proposes for the future of this great Country and how it will help each and every one of us. We should feel honored to have such an intelligent, caring man willing to devote his life to showing us how we can work together to change the course of history, regain our strength as a Country, and regain the respect of the rest of the world, which we have undoubtedly lost!
Barack Obama...you are the only hope for the future of the United States of America! May God speed!
