Who should take over....

That's a good question and unfortunately, that's the crux. I don't have the answer to that one. I think what needs to happen is that there needs to be a regulation of how much medical procedures and medicines and surgeries cost without causing the doctors and hospitals to go bankrupt. Then there needs to be limits on what companies can charge for insurance - that way there is still choice in picking your insurance and ensures that companies will try to keep costs low. Are the companies going to do this themselves? I think they should be given that option, but if not, that's when the government steps in. What I don't believe in is the government mandating what I will pay for insurance, what medical procedures it will cover and that I have to pay for coverage for people who can't pay for it themselves. We need to have as little government interference in our lives as possible. I would rather pay for my own insurance and take care of myself and my family than have the government telling me what I can and can't go see the doctor for and what medicine I can and can't have. I believe in helping people when they're down, but I am a true conservative and I make no apologies for that. I think we wonder what's happened to our children in this country and why school performance is going down, but it's really the same problem with many people in our society. It's all about entitlement - people think that they don't have to work and they don't have to do anything and just because they live in America, they can have everything handed to them by the government. That just can't be what the founding fathers meant when they decided to split from England (who had a King that taxed them for just about everything - sound familiar these days?)
