throw the once-in-a-lifetime bash they want to mark a UNIQUELY historical moment in time which they evidently feel is worth it and THEN let them worry about the rest of it the remaining 1460 days until the next inauguration? Celebrating the end of W's time and the ushering in of the new era is not ridiculous TO THEM. These are private donors. It's their money, not yours, not ours. Let them have their fun. After all, the spirit behind the donations is to give Americans an enduring memory. Can't fault them for that.
