Personally I love this country
I believe it is one of the very best places to live on earth. People want to come here because of the opportunity to improve their lives, partly due to the sheer size of this country. However, I am not able to pretend the U.S. doesn't have its share of problems also and it is always a work in progress toward becoming a better nation. I feel it is up to its citizenry to provide the checks and balances needed to keep it on right track.

But the government has been looking the other way while the Wall Street Prirates and Mirauders were raping and pilaging everything they could find and having a grand old time doing it. We have a gorgeous country with so many assets, I have traveled all 50 states and the pure majesty in all areas is really humbling, and I thank God I was born in this country. We are all going to have to help each other out, pay attention to what our elected officials are doing, learn how to raise a giant stink when they are not listening to their constituents and home-base, have patience to think things through clearly...as so many of our leaders do not. Hey, anyone ready to storm the Bastille with pitchforks and torches????? Perhaps we should get out the guillotine on the W.H front lawn as a reminder of what happens when arrogance runs rough-shod over the "common" people who cannot even eat moldy bread, let alone "cake!" who feel the need to tell people how "well educated" or "very educated" they are. I find it's usually the ones who have voted for the O who feel they need to justify how educated they are. Happy Robin MT I've seen your posts before and you are well educated on some issues, but you don't need to tell anyone that. You don't need to justify it, just your posts tell it in themselves. I've enjoyed your posts, but people who are independent thinkers and can take information given to them and process it and understand it and don't go around pronouncing how much education they have or how smart they are and are usually the ones who know what's going on.
I don't think people knew enough about the O before he got in. I think they didn't want to know, they just hated (not you in particular), but they just hated the republicans so much they would have voted for a dog. There are a lot of very prominent politicians coming out and questioning him and what he is doing. He's taking our country down and I just hope we have enough politicians with enough backbone and strength to say no more. We will not see our country destroyed and all the wonderful people that make it a great country.

without so much... a home, food, clothing, utilities, car, gas... the list goes on and if they can't afford those things, i would imagine it would be hard for them to afford for their kids to participate in sports at school even and this gal is complaining because she has to put snacks on separate shelves in her fridge for her kids to last a week....
maybe that family is going through hardship compared to what they are used to, aren't we all? i mean the cost of everything is going up, minus gas at the moment, but we count our blessings. we have a roof over our head, we have food in the fridge, etc.
i did feel bad for the retired couple...

These tea parties represent the people of the country
and how we feel. We are sick of the over-taxation. We are sick of the government not listening to us, spending like there's no tomorrow, and spending money they haven't even printed yet. Then on top of that we're being taxed more and more so they can send it oversees to other countries all while doing Jack sh!t for the Americans. What's next that people who work will not get paid anymore, 100% will go to taxes or maybe we'll get $8 a month (like Cuba) to make us feel like we're getting something for all the hard work we do. There's more to these tea parties than that. You think people's lives being ruined by what government is doing to us is funny? There are over a million people who are involving themselves in the tea parties. Government is supposed to be "for the people". It is not. They are for themselves and screw the people. The governors of each state need to recall these pieces of garbage they sent to DC, because they are no longer representing us (the people who voted for them), they are for themselves and they care less about us.

I heard a show yesterday that CNN and MSLSD are not participating in the tea parties. What better way to say "screw the American people and the country. We don't care what they have to say". However, you know that if there was a party where everyone in this country was excited and wanted to pay more in taxes and was for bigger government, etc. CNN and MSLSD would be the first to be reporting it.
MSLSD is so far off on what is really happening in this country I'd like to see them go off the air. Maddow, Olberman, Matthews, etc. They're all a bunch of whiny @ss punks who are throwing a tantrum because their station is losing millions of dollars because more people are turning to stations that will give them the truth, and are turning off CNN & MSLSD.

Not enough people in this country have the guts for a tax revolt.
Unfortunately, the game is rigged against that too, because you need to be able to defeat an incumbent in the primary (in order to have another candidate of your party), and many incumbents run unchallenged in their primaries. This means you have to vote against them in the general election by voting for a candidate of another party. Many people find this very repugnant to do unless the candidate is truly very moderate.
When you really look at how the major parties have rigged the electoral process to keep themselves in office, you can see the extent of the corruption. On the other hand, when you look at countries that have more than two major parties, those don't work any better because two of them will get together to collude against the third party, etc. Israel is a good example of the mess you get into with multiple parties, none of which can get elected by themselves. They end up forming "alliances" with other parties and it gets very complicated just trying to figure out "who" is going to be in power or what they will do.
Perhaps there's a really big question here: Is mankind capable of competent self-government that is free of corruption, influence-peddling, secret deals and lies? I am beginning to think not.
