Well, by all means lets discuss pertinent
xx
Doesn't matter about religion and
cannot tolerate, so let's relate it to *religion & politics* for this issue. Same ole same ole.
I was not around in the 60's, but I do condemn
ANYONE who is a terrorist. It was uncommon for things to escalate in this manner in the 60's (I am well educated). But, as you state, "The soldiers came home and were spit on by these kinds of radicals." Can you not see that it is definitely NOT rebuplican propaganda. You really make the argument for us. It is insane to think that we should excuse the behavior of hippies because they were on LSD--come on. I suppose we should forgive Barrack's drug use, as well. Judge me for what I did in my 20's. I am proud of who I was and who I became--and yes, I made mistakes, but I never terrorized anyone.
What a surprise, you don't condemn skinheads.

And, as usual, you twist my words in order to attack my posts.  I wrote, *It's too bad that these *rotten apples* are making the majority of the good military look bad.*

Shame on YOU for not thinking this is horrible.

Is it just me, or is *condemn* the leftist buzzword for the day? nm
nm
You condemn McCain for adultery....sm
yet you support a man who will allow murder of children and homosexual marriage?

Thanks for clearing that up. sheesh
You don't support it, but you don't necessarily condemn it either
If there are homosexuals being killed, it is not in this country. You just don't hear about it and the media would have a hey day with something like that. No, I don't believe it, just because you say it's happening. Proof please. I have every right to come across any way I please. Stop telling me I have no "right" to say, feel, think the way I do. I have no idea how you feel about your son or even how you handle it, so I wouldn't even begin to tell you what's going on in your life. But this is the way I feel. No, I wouldn't disown my children. However, I did do the groundwork when they were small. They knew it was wrong. They knew it would not be accepted by me or their father and maybe they had enough respect for us to do the right thing. I don't know. I do know that most kids are not taught that it's wrong, regardless of what society tells us. I do know that some kids do this to get back at their parents for different reasons. All sins can be forgiven. This is one sin that can kill you before you have a chance to be forgiven. I loved my kids enough to make sure they understood it was not only wrong, but could lead to their deaths at an earlier age. Not just HIV, AIDS but anal cancer, hepatitis C and a score of other terrible diseases. I didn't want that for for my sons. I'm not a hippocrit. But you are judgemental.
WH refuses to condemn Robertson's statement.
It's just amazing that our own President won't stand up and condemn this kind of terrorism - using the US airwaves to threaten assasination of foreign leaders, by a religious leader no less. Tough on terrorism? OK, so...when?
Have you heard him condemn election fraud?
!!
And yet you STILL refuse to condemn child sexual abuse!

When this was first posted, it was posted before there were separate political boards.  Still, there was no response.

You people have done nothing by drive-by sniping posts for the last couple weeks, to the point where some of them had to be removed by the moderator.

Yet you're AFRAID to post outrage over child sexual abuse?

I guess we can leave it at that.  You're obviously more outraged that I posted regarding this subject than you are at the subject itself.

And THAT speaks volumes.

LOL. *Liberal Religion* = ANY religion that isn't YOURS.

You don't want EQUALITY in religion.  You want yours to be SUPERIOR to all others.  You want to force your narrow and specific religious beliefs down the throats of every single American.  You can't get them into your religion willingly so you'll FORCE them to fall in step with you via government if you have to.

You couldn't stop abortion by killing abortion doctors, so now you'll do it through the Supreme Court.  And your God on earth just happens to be a president who wants the same things that you do, and so he's willing to throw the Constitution out the window (in violation of his Presidential oath) in order to replace it, not just with the Christian Bible, but with his own personal clone who will legislate her own narrow evangelical Christian views that don't even agree with the less radical, quieter forms of the Christian religion.

Government, schools and universities don't fall into the same categories.

There already ARE religous schools and universities.  Isn't THAT enough for you?

And what about all those many, MANY buildings with crosses and other religious symbols on them throughout this nation where people of like-minded beliefs congregate to worship the God of their CHOICE?  I believe they're called CHURCHES.  Isn't THAT enough for you, either?

Nope.  You're not going to be happy until you can be *superior.*

The sad fact is that in a country with freedom of religion, you never WILL BE, whether you like it or not. You can put 9 THOUSAND justices on the Supreme Court, you still won't be SUPERIOR, and I believe God, who is all knowing, knows that as well!

Because the Muslim religion is the only religion that says.....
Convert or die.
You are just mean period.
You obviously have anger issues. The poster was being respectful while asking questions and you ripped them to shreds. You are a very hateful person. You talk about not judging other people's views and how they live their life, and you judge someone when they just ask you questions. You are very two faced. No wonder this board is not very active. The two or three posters who I see posting here are very mean spirited.
Period.

My solution is to get out, period, now.
and I resent having to come up with a solution to a problem that I did not create, an idea that I found ridiculous, that I opposed, that I petitioned, attended rallies with those blood-thirsty Quakers against, and wrote letters to editors, senators, congressmen about. There is nothing to be gained in Iraq.
here we go again. last time period.

(Chris) Matthews is the one with a "thrill up his leg!"

Yes, I AM real.  I don't get that syndrome around members of the opposite sex, or around any politician, for that matter.

You should have stopped at Not Tolerant. Period.

Actually, no.  There was much violence when we left Gaza.
Barack is not a socialist NOT NOT PERIOD sm

Coretta King Rejected War (period).

We must remember it was Coretta's funeral, so sentiments were made in HER honor, NOT SUGAR COATED FOR THE BUSHES.

Coretta King Rejected War

Editorial

President Bush may have tried to claim a little bit of the legacy of Coretta Scott King with a warm and generous reference to her at the opening of his State of the Union address this week, but it should be remembered that King was a foe of this president and a frequent critic of his abuses of power.

On the eve of the invasion of Iraq in 2003, King celebrated the anniversary of the birth of her late husband, the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., by recalling that the slain civil rights leader had been outspoken in his opposition to unnecessary and unwise wars.

We commemorate Martin Luther King Jr. as a great champion of peace who warned us that war was a poor chisel for carving out a peaceful tomorrow. We must pursue peaceful ends through peaceful means. Martin said, 'True peace is not just the absence of tension, it is the presence of justice,' Coretta King told a crowd that had gathered at Atlanta's Ebenezer Baptist Church. She continued, May his challenge and his example guide and inspire us to seek peaceful alternatives to a war with Iraq and military conflict in the Middle East.

Coretta King continued to speak out against the Bush administration's policy of pre-emptive war-making, and she always make it clear that she disagreed passionately with this president.

Coretta Scott King ponders a reporter's question in front of a painting of her late husband, civil-rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr., in this Jan. 14, 2003 file photo from Atlanta.

When Bush showed up to lay a wreath at the Rev. King's grave in January 2004, Coretta King was polite but pointed in her remarks. Before greeting Bush, she said at another event at Ebenezer Baptist that she sided with those who opposed the war rather than supported it, and she lamented the fact that those people are not in charge of making the policies of their nations. If they were, she added, I think we would have more peace and more justice.

There will be many celebrations of Coretta Scott King's brave and inspiring life, as well as her rich legacy of activism.

But none will be so appropriate as those that recall her absolute opposition to this president's illegal and immoral war-making.

It aint gonna happen - it's over for her - period!!!
Do you really want to live under a socialist dictator. If so I think you are in the wrong country. I think there is plenty of room in Cuba or other socialists/communist countries.

Let it rest. She is not going to be president and she is not going to be VP - Even Palosi (sp?) said it's not a good idea. I trust her judgment more than Hillary's and the other feminists pushing for her. Besides...that is just what Obama needs...someone with their hand on the assassination button only too happy to push the button so that she can finally sleeze herself into the seat.

Even the top democrats who kept pushing and pushing for her to be the nominee last night started saying what in the world is going on? Why isn't she conceding? Why isn't she congratulating Barack? Why is she being announced by Terry McAulife as the next president when all votes have been counted and she lost and they know it? Have they totally lost their mind?????

She has no decent characterists about her. Everything is "me, me, me". Not once whenever Barack won a state did she congratulate him, yet everytime she won a state he congratulated her. Now she's giving a speech last night, does not mention the enormous victory this country has finally having a person of color (even though he's half white) win the nomination. Come on - that is a huge victory! And lastly she says "Thank you South Dakota, you had the last word" when Montana's voting booths had not even closed. Oh, which just so happened to be in Barack's favor (oh lets just forget them, their votes don't count because they didn't vote for me). She's a disgrace to the human race! Moreover she's a disgrace to all women!
I don't think Cindy McCain thinks period.
Not at all impressed with her.
Clinton was a worse embarrassment. Period.

OMG -- talking about the dress period is superficial!
Who gives a crap what Michelle Obama was wearing!
There is no reason to resort to this measures - period
But because the current administration is not listening to the top economist, their answer is print money we don't have anything to back it up with. Your lack of education in economics really shows here. It does not matter how much debt someone inherits or makes themselves. You don't print money you have nothing to back it up with. You DO NOT add more debt by adding more trillions then turning around and blaming it on the previous administration. He needs to listen to the economists. "Please stop blaming the fact that we have to resort to these measures on the current administration" Resort to these measures???? Have IQ's dropped that sharply in this short amount of time. He has just increased our deficit in the trillions. This is nothing the previous administration did. This is something that the current administration did, and no fault of the previous administrations. They did this by themselves without the input of anyone with any sense. He didn't have to do this to our country and our children and granchildrens future but he did. So, yes, we are blaming the current administration. This was not the solution to get us out of debt - spend more money. Especially since the "more money" does nothing to stimulate the economy and create jobs. It has gone overseas to other banks and to the most wealthiest in this country. Once again we have another administration who cares nothing (by their own actions) about the American people and getting our economy back on track.
Fox lies PERIOD, the rest are just intelligent, can't you tell the difference? nm

Agreed. Teach no bullying or violence, period.
"Lifestyle acceptance" doesn't have to come into it at all. I don't have to accept anyone's lifestyle in order to learn that bullying and violence are not acceptable ways of expressing my disagreement with them.

You see, there's a conflation between the principle of "nonviolence" and "acceptance of lifestyles" going on here, and it's very, very calculated and it's very, very deliberate.

In fact, "acceptance" is really an inadequate basis for nonviolence - if you stop for a moment to think about it - because I am obliged to be nonviolent toward people whose lifestyles not even you would suggest that that I (or my children) should EVER "accept".

Bush lied and our brave patriotic soldiers died..PERIOD
Of course Bush lied about WMD and the threat of Iraq..He needed a reason to invade Iraq..If you would do some research you would find many papers that document meetings between Cheney, Wolfowitz, Perle and others who devised a way to take over the Middle East in the 1990's..all they needed was a way to present it to the American people, as we would not allow our children to die for no reason.  With 9/11, they got the reason and tried to tie up 9/11 with Iraq..I, frankly, think they also had a hand in 9/11..For any who poo poo this..I ask you to do some surfing on the Northwoods Operation..same kind of thing, only in the 1960's..Let a few CIA Hispanic/Cuban operatives invade a few curise ships on Floridas coast, kill a few Americans and we would definitely agree to invading Cuba and killing Casto..Our govt did not agree to it, however, 9/11 seems to me like an updated plan..there are many who also wonder was this an inside job..
Amen to that!!. Ann Coulter is an embarrassment to ALL women, period. She is a race-baiting
hateful, tragically misinformed, stunningly inferior shell of  a human being who has been paid by the media to vomit forth inflammatory nonsensical words to the mainstream U.S. who quite frankly, wish she would stick her head up her posterior, exhale and blow herself up.
Just teach "no bullying" PERIOD and leave the lifestyle crap out of it.
I'm sorry, but you're very naive about what these children are actually being taught - i.e., that one family is "just like another" (there's a cute little song they sing about this), etc.

You want to teach kids not to be physically violent toward any other kids - fine. You go beyond that and start preaching the gospel of lifestyle equivalency and you're wandering off into the parents' domain.

Oh, yeah - I almost forgot. Get back to T E A C H I N G!!
Well lets see
try having a daughter wandering around like a ghost and a 2-year-old grandson wondering where his daddy is. Try having to explain to a 2 yo why daddy is never coming back. Yeah your right, the holidays are not great around here this year as I am sure they are not great for a lot of families who have lost someone in Bush's miserable war. So why dont you and Writer go natter elsewhere and let the grownups talk here.
lets see her

Okay, let's have Mrs. Palin on the interview shows.  I want to see her interviewed by Bob Shieffer, Mat Lauer, Andrea Mitchell, George Stephanopoulous, Meet the Press, etc.  We saw that she can really deliver a written speech well.  I want to hear her personal views on foreign affairs and improving the economy. She has experience in Alaskan news, so I will expect a camera-ready, polished performance.

Lets all say............
Obama doesn't have any experience, executive or foreign!!!! And yet, he's running for President.

At least Palin knows what executive experience is, which is more than Obama has.
Oh lets s/m
We need to lighten up around here.  I'll start a thread and then I really have to get busy.
lets not go there
OK I can understand questioning his name given 9/11.  But what the heck does it have to do with being black?  Can you please tell me?  I swear.
okay, lets go with that....(sm)

Let's say for the sake of argument that he is Muslim.  With this in mind, he would be going to a christian church, all the while faking having the christian belief.  So when Rev. Wright gets up and preaches, I can assume that since Obama is supposedly a Muslim and not a christian, that he would not believe what is being preached.  If Obama is not influenced by what is preached in this church, then what's the big deal about Rev Wright and the supposedly big impact he had on Obama?

lets tar and feather them
This lying immoral corrupt administration needs to be tar and feathered and handed over to the families who lost loved ones in this illegal war and occupation of a nonthreatening country.  I have lost no one, however, I gotta tell ya, if I had lost someone, I would not be as kind and soft spoken as Cindy Sheehan.  I would be hell on wheels.
Just trying to help, sm lets people know there is ...sm
a message inside. If you put nm, no one will open your post because they think there is nothing inside.
lets just wait and see how it

all plays out.  As for McCain being incontinent, I did not know that until you said so. That's a shame.

I know, lets just talk about....(sm)
Obama's b/c.  It's perfectly okay to try to discredit the guy who isn't even in office yet over a bunch of unsubstantiated rumors, but let's not talk about the guy who is in office now who has single-handedly brought this country to it's knees as well as destroyed all credibility of this country on a global scale.  Again, Bush is still running new legislation through that will affect us for years to come unless it can be reversed.  How about that new agreement with Afghanistan?  Yeah, that would be the one that will directly impact our people over there -- not in a positive way.  It sounds to me like you have a good case of *out of sight, out of mind.*  That's a pity.
Yes they will see increases when the O lets ...sm
the Bush tax cuts expire in 2010.

Everyone's taxes will go up.

Everyone.

Interesting how the O doesn't bring this fact up at all, like it will have nothing to do with him.

hmm...no you win....lets argue about that instead. nm
x
lets get it straight abc
i said "Your can save us" what does that mean?  That is what I said.  I also said i think you are stalking me or something like that because you bashed me over and over and called me a stalker.  I never said anything hateful in that post and never said your spelling sucks.  Also, I am done arguing with you and all the people on this board like you.  You know the ones that are just looking for a fight.  The ones that LOVE to stir the pot and point out everyone's faults but their own.  The ones that scream hate and prejudice and all that crap when someone voices an opinion that is slightly different than their own.  Have fun tearing each other apart.  I will post my beliefs and opinions and ignore the people that get on simply to stir up anger.
Lets look at the big picture

Seems like each time a president leaves office everyone "hems and haws" at the list of people they pardon (especially those who dislike whatever president is leaving office).  Every exiting president has had their list of people who should never have received pardons.  Some yes, like first time offenders, people arrested for mairjuana, or caught turning back odometers, etc).

Maybe you should have also posted the list of people Clinton pardoned.  All you said was "he pardoned some nice ones too".  You make it sound  like GW is pardoning hardened criminal while BC only pardoned some people who did petty crimes.  Even though you didn't say that, by saying "he pardoned some nice ones too" it takes away from the seriousness of the people he did pardon.  But since you didn't post Clinton's pardons I will.  Now before anyone throws a fit because I know a lot of you think Clinton is the best thing since sliced bread, I'm just posting to show that he pardoned as many creeps as Bush is.  (BTW - I didn't, have never, and do not support Bush - can't stand the guy, but at let's try to keep it honest here).  Oh and my favorites are the money launderers, income tax evaders, bank fraud, conspiracy to defraud the government, issuing worthless checks, bank fraud, etc - all those things that helped to start bringing our economy down).  Those and Roger Clinton, Marc Rich, and Susan McDougal,  I did notice how he pardoned a lot of people who lied, but then again that was Clinton's whole 8 years in office - one lie after another, so doesn't surprise me he pardoned people who lied under oath.

You said something in regards to food stamps...look at #22 on Clintons list - Unauthorized use and transfer of food stamps.  I found an interesting article called "10 Heated Presidential Pardons" that goes back to George Washington.  I'll post the link.  All I'm saying here is that each president throughout our history has pardoned some pretty bad people that should not be pardoned.  GW is no different and no more worse than any of the previous.  Here's the article - an interesting read.

lets describe you
You are the most intelligent man on the face of the earth. No one understands your amazing gifts. No one gets your subtle humor. And yet, here you sit, wasting your intellect on a bunch of young women. Maybe you need to grow up and seek out your own kind.
There is no need to ban them. If we do, lets add - see message
Lets add to the list Keith Olberman, Chris Matthews, Rachel Maddow, David Shuster, Wolf Blitzer, Anderson Cooper, Alan Colmes (you already said Hannity), Thom Hartmann, Joy Behr, and a whole slew of others who spew their hate.

I may think these above mentioned names are nothing but hate-spewing propaganda pushers, but others out their enjoy listening to them. There is no reason to ban any reporter/radio/talk show host. This is America and this is supposed to be land of the free, not "Land of lets only let liberals say what they want and shut down everyone else whom I don't agree with".

As for Michael Savage. He's great. He tells it like it is. He is neither a republican or democrat and has gone after both political parties. Also there is nothing wrong with O'Reilly. He has guests from both sides on, and actually lately I've been watching him and he is tending to lean more to the left, although he calls himself an independent. He is defending Obama on a lot of issues I don't agree with. But he's entitled to his opinion and I have mine.

I don't know what Savage did to have him banned from great brittain, but there is no reason to ban him or any other talk show/radio personality from the US. Especially when they are doing nothing to deserve being banned. They do that in socialist countries, and as fast as the current admin is trying to turn the US into a socialist country as far as I know we still have our freedoms of speech - as long as it isn't inciting hate and fear - in which I'm surprised Olberman, Cooper, Mathews, and Maddow have not been banned yet for.
Yes, but lets just keep the facts straight. NM
