The thing that I think was one of the most profound issues in President Obama's speech was his call to service. Can you imagine -- if everyone were to do one thing for their community on a regular weekly/monthly basis how much impact that would have? How much pride would we take in knowing that we were directly able to make our communities better? Not only that, it would cut out the need for government involvement in many situations. The bottom line is "It takes a village".
