You don't need those attorneys to

do it. You can do it yourself....if you can wade through all the forms you need to fill out. The IRS has the forms on line.  I think it's around 10 pages of info you need to fill out. They almost want your whole life story.

I had downloaded the forms because we were going to try to get some relief, mostly in the way of payments,  then the IRS sent us a new tax bill that was lower than when we filed our taxes (our accountant amended our return and added something DH said that he never deducted because he didn't know about it). So, we just threw out the forms and paid the lower bill before they tacked on penalty and interest.

What was nice about it was we recieved it the day before Christmas. Wasn't that a nice Christmas present?

Thank you attorneys for helping the little guy
Thank you attorneys who deal with helping the little guy against enormous corporations and their deceit and corruption in America and those in government who allow it.  Thank you and may you grow and prosper in helping us find justice.
I don't know. I worry about attorneys too
their life of fiscal sacrifice must be a hard cross to bear too...
The only attorneys spending money here are
the ones preying on the witch hunt delegation and receiving funds via internet extortion schemes. Obama does not have to lift a finger, just sit on the sidelines and watch the SC strike them down, one after another.
OK, never been there, but get it straight before you denegrate, these tax attorneys will not get you
a lower tax bracket or give you extra credits, but they will negotiate with the IRS terms on which you can repay what you owe, also, the IRS can penalize people EXTRAVAGANT amounts at times when there is a shortfall or mistake in payment, making it harder to pay them off, and these attorneys can sometimes get the IRS to back down on fees so that the tax payer can pay a more reasonble amount. I haven't been through this and I am all square for EVERYONE paying their correct, fair share, but I do have friends that are attorneys, and this is only what I understand from them. Now those CEO FAT CATS who have all the tax loop holes and pay practically nothing while inveting offshore, THOSE guys need to rot in H-E-double toothpicks. IMO
These attorneys do not eliminate taxes owed.
They negotiate penalties and interest on back taxes and try to help their clients with their returns to see if there are any LEGITIMATE deductions they may have missed. BTW, they represent all income groups and their fees are based on a percentage of the amount "recovered" from IRS. They charge a modest retainer fee on the front end.
