yes, felons can vote. Remember, there are a lot of rich white felons convicted of money laundering, tax evasion, etc., bribery. Tom DeLay ring a bell? That dangerous Martha Stewart?

It's not so much that felons can vote
But more the idea that the Obama campaign doesn't want to miss out on that oh-so-important felon vote!
I agree about African-American thing. People aren't supposed to vote AGAINST him because his African-American, so they certainly shouldn't vote FOR him because he's African-American. I thought we were supposed to vote for the best candidate, period.
