All I can say is Hollywood would be proud...
Quite an acting job. I call it *cheerleading.* Trying to push people into an emotional frenzy. There are many that think pushing someone into an emotional frenzy will get them to make a decision for the Lord. Trouble is, that just confuses people and when the emotion wears off the *cheerleaders* are gone, the person who has made the *decision* is confused, does not know why all the emotion left and begin to question, and have no place to turn. I personally believe the choice for God is not made in the heat of an emotional moment but in a moment of quiet, clear clarity built on a solid base of faith. I do not mean to cast aspersions on anyone's choice of faith. It is just easier to get through the every day if you have that quiet, strong knowledge of faith and not expect to slide through life on an emotional freight train. That does not mean I do not have my emotional moments, because I do; usually associated with music because that is one of the ways God speaks to my heart. However, those who make an emotional decision not based on faith and knowledge of God's word get disenchanted when the *cheerleaders* are gone. That is why counselors are present at the Grahams' gatherings, so that people can talk quietly with someone and understand their decision before it is made. That way they have something concrete to hold onto when the emotion goes away. Just my two cents worth.

Way too many get sucked into that Hollywood
Because those "rich" Hollywood folks that so many O lovers love and follow, those folks have so many loopholes for their money, they KNOW they will not be paying taxes out the butt. They can afford folks to help them figure out where to put all that cash to keep it safe from Obama, while they sing, dance, and play for Obama.

My husband mentioned something about part of the stimulus going to Hollywood. Can anybody enlighten me on this? Is this really going to help? Call me clueless, but I don't get how all this money being given to these corporations is helping. Makes me a little  in the stomache actually.

How many people do you think it takes to make a movie -- go all the way down to the key grip? Again, that's jobs. Not all job creation is going to be the jobs you want them to be. There are numerous industries in this country and not everyone can build a bridge.

IMO, Hollywood shouldn't get a cent

Another group I've heard complain are athletes. They are complaining because sales of tickets are down. Well.....I'm sorry but I think it is absolutely ridiculous that these athletes make as much as they do anyway.....maybe if they would take a pay cut and lower the ticket prices.....maybe more people could afford to go to games.
I live in Indiana and I am a Colts fan but I am thoroughly ticked that they threatened to leave Indiana unless we built them a new stadium. We built them a new stadium at the expense of the taxpayers and the Colts have sucked major butt since then. I would have told them to pack up and leave and not let the door hit them in the butt on the way out. They make WAY too much money to sit around and make demands like that. They could have easily built their own dang stadium....jerks. Just think about all those local people whose property taxes skyrocketed because the colts demanded a new stadium. I wonder how many people in the Indianapolis area lost their homes because they couldn't afford their property tax? Makes me sick.
And why in the world are the Army and the Air Force, etc. sponsoring race cars? They are pretty much taking taxpayer money to pay to sponsor vehicles that costs a butt load of money. That really chaps my ars too. ARGH!

He said being a conservative in Hollywood is the mark of death. Most of the stars who are conservative just never mention it, although I did see Kelsey Grammar on H&C and he freely admitted he was a Republican and might even think of running for office. READ the resolution before you start arguing. It is very clear in its message and they FULLY understood what they were voting on. If they did not, then they do not been to be in the offices they hold!! They can READ, I assume. They had the same intelligence that the President had. Democrats sat on the Intelligence Committees who were briefed by the same people who briefed the President. It is a load of unadulterated MANURE (to use the Code Pink ladies' song) to now state that they were lied to and they didn't know the truth. Well, all I can say is, they do not deserve to be in Washington as your representatives if they did NOT do the research and talk to the advisors and the military et. al. before agreeing to the resolution. Now that the going has gotten tough, the Democrats want to do what they do best, that is cut and run, no matter what happens to the Iraqi people or to the morale of our men and women in uniform, just like they did during Viet Nam. It is a travesty, it plays right into the hands of the enemy, and I would not doubt in the latest that Sean Penn, Tim Robbins, Susan Sarandon, Hanoi Jane, and the Pink Ladies are now starring in Al Qaeda recruitment and propaganda videos. And they should each be ashamed of that fact. But there is something seriously lacking in those people...empathy and common sense. And no one will respond to my challenge...why don't the Code Pink ladies take their cause to the real enemies of this country...the ones who took down the towers...the ones who bombed the Cole...the ones who bombed the WTC the FIRST time...the ones who downed the plane over Lockerbie...the ones who blew up the Marine barracks in Beirut....how, LVMT, can you INGORE all that loss of American life? How can THEY??? Why don't Sarandon, Robbins, Penn, all of them, get an audience with bin Laden? Tell HIM to give peace a chance...try to get his followers to IMPEACH HIM. I remember in the mid 1980s, my old car died. The last thing I wanted was to incur a new monthly car payment, but I needed a car.
I went to the Chevy lot and asked to see the cheapest new car they had. They showed me a Chevy Sprint -- bare bones. (The car didn't have air conditioning and didn't even have a RADIO.) I bought it because I was desperate. (I remember my prepubescent daughter HATING me for getting it because the front passenger visor didn't have a MIRROR.)
That dang car got 50 MILES PER GALLON! I bought a radio (and a mirror for the front passenger visor), and later, my dad had air conditioning installed as a birthday present. It turned out to be the best car I ever had and was very, very cheap to purchase.
If they could manufacture a car like that 20-plus years ago, why can't they do it now?

Some one please explain to me....you all blame Bush for 9/11 stating that there were warnings about planes, etc. Did they give a specific day? Which planes? So does the president take this information and land all planes and not allow air travel at all on that day? Do they evacuate all tall buildings and monuments just in case? Could 9/11 have been prevented? We all seem to know who to point the finger at but I'm sure dealing with terrorist and terrorists threats is a whole different ball game than us just sitting back and watching bad things happening and wanting to know why it wasn't stopped.
All I can say is that God forbid we have another terrorist attack, we will just have to wait and see how Obama handles it. I think it would be hard for any president to prevent some of these things, but that is just something we are going to have to see play out before we know the answer to it.

Okay, that is one of the things in this "package" that I think is insane and absolutely STUPID and WRONG. But would I throw out so many of the good proposals in that bill because of it, things that will actually create jobs, actually help some (SOME) deserving folk not go out on the street, extend unemployment benefits because there are almost NO JOBS out there and families will need this to fall back on as they look for jobs...the $$$ that will go for elcerly, disabled, the money that will go toward strengthing out BORDERS, and lots of folk here complain about the ALIENS, well, that takes money! Stronger borders also means less drugs get in, they will still get in I know, but less will. STOP throwing out the baby with the bathwater, for God's sake. The country is starting to remind me of a bunch of little kids with ADHD hiked up on sugar, running around, taking tantrums, and wanting things NOW. What about the past 8 years as this was all in the making????

Campaigning is expensive, and “leftover” money gets used for bills and debts first, including expenses incurred while winding down an abandoned campaign or a lost political office.
Candidates do sometimes end up with surplus funds, though, particularly if they're incumbent members of Congress who decide not to run for another term. State and local governments have their own rules, but those running for federal office -- including presidential candidates -- must abide by strict FEC guidelines when it comes to their extra campaign money. They can donate an unlimited amount to a charity or political party. They can also, within limits, make contributions directly to other candidates. A campaign committee can give up to $2000 per election to each candidate. If the committee is converted into a political action committee, the limit jumps to $5000 – but to be established as a PAC, the committee would have to be in existence for six months, receive contributions from 50 donors, and make contributions to five recipients.
What candidates can’t do with leftover money is use it for personal expenses. Retiring federal lawmakers used to be able to pocket extra cash and use it for cars, vacations, clothes, pet grooming, whatever -- but that changed in 1989 with the passage of the Ethics Reform Act.

We haul water every week. I use it for cooking and drinking. I still use the well water for washing clothes, showers, and dishes. Shame too. I paid almost $3,000 for a new well 4 years ago.
