Subject: Didn't you read my post?

Yes, my Stedman's and several other books spell it Kitner. And several other perfectly reputable sources spell it Kittner.

WHICH IS WHY I ASKED 'PLEASE DON'T JUST TELL ME HOW YOUR BOOK SPELLS IT!'

Please, does anyone actually have credible reference as to the person who these tools are named after?

Thank you.

Is huffing fermented poop the next new street drug?
Filed under Offbeat, Stuff I Like

There’s been articles floating around on the internet warning about a new street drug called Jenkem. The latest “informational bulletin” from a Sheriff’s office in Collier County, Florida was posted on The Smoking Gun website. Apparently, Jenkem is fermented urine and fecal matter and when inhaled, the concentrated methane supposedly gives off a powerful high.

I checked it out at snopes.com and found this LINK. However, the actual veracity of this story is still considered “undetermined” and a link to a BBC news article was provided. Supposedly, this started with the street kids in Zambia as a cheap way of getting high. The story is too disturbing and too disgusting to go into detail here, so click away at the link at your own risk and not if you plan on eating anytime soon.

The DEA would have a hell of a time regulating something like poop. Moms like me could be the newest victims of this new drug. Who needs a crack pipe when we have a diaper genie we could plaster our face against and inhale it hallucinogenic contents?

You really had me with this one. I must be really tired too because the first time I read it, it looked just fine to me!

I had a doctor who always used medical words like clunky, glunky, poopey, goopey, icky, yicky, yucky and um...peepee. I was to type these verbatim...so perhaps to me, this could be right.

It is a QRS prolonged repolarization, however and NOT poopey because I am so poopey tired I can't think.

I have posted on these boards several times, only asking questions, and have gotten some crazy, rude, ugly, nasty, idiotic, etc., responses.  When people respond and make you out to be an idiot, just because you asked a simple question, THEY are the ones who really look like the idiot!!  I see people criticize others for the least little thing, like in your instance.  They will post a response just to let someone know they misspelled a simple word, when it has nothing at all to do with the question or comment.  They must have a lot of time on their hands, is all I can say!!!

BTW, I like to vent every once in a while, too!

I think we all have at least one doc that drives us up a wall with his dictation ways. I have a couple too, and it is very easy to overlook the *obvious*. Hope you got it worked out.

Yes, just using Book of Style, I know the rules so that's the best I can do.

Subject: verbatim frustration

I had one recently where the doc clearly used the wrong word (something like "she does got") on a verbatim report.  I cringed as I typed it.  Of course, after sending it, I wish I would have either corrected it or just flagged it, since it had to go to QA anyway.  QA corrected it.  That part doesn't bother me, but maybe we need a new definition of the varying degrees of verbatim.  It's getting a bit much.

I would do 60%. I have several doctors that will say 60 (as in ) 6-0. Clarifying the numbers so you don't put 16. They do 50, 5-0 so you don't put 15 because they sound close. It just sounds like sixty-six-zero. Put what you feel is right but I would be from experienc it is 60%
Since no QA, just do what you feel
Subject: Since no QA, just do what you feel

looks right and then they will let you know if it is right or wrong.

I would probably separate each by stating the problem is blah, blah, blah then paragraph the examination is blah, blah, etc.

I would not capitalize headings since they are office notes.

Make each problem standout somehow.

If they have no samples for you, then do it and let them get back to you.

Good Luck
Thanks so much. I feel much better about this now.

Wow!! Feel sorry for you.
Subject: Wow!! Feel sorry for you.

No one from QA has EVER treated me that way. I have had a few less than desirables, but this one is shocking.

I can stand for the fact that people who have diabetes do not necessarily have hypertension. My father has diabetes and has had two MIs and does not have nor has he been treated for hypertension ever.

Plus, I have done QA and yeah, once in awhile a sound alike may seem way off to you because you may know the dictator so well, BUT I have never had anything come across that was "way off". I have always listened a couple of times to try to figure the word out before flagging it as I am sure 99% of us MTs do. Frankly, I would try to speak to her supervisor in the company if you have that option because if she is treating people that way, the company will lose their good MTs. I left a company of a nasty QA manager (apparently not this bad). I would NOT put up with that. It is abusive pure and simple

This is an ESL. I think she has said this before, but I cannot get a grip on it this time.

She was bleeding so much that she called 911 and the patient was taken to the ER. The ER controlled the bleeding and put a plastic **salizine** tape and sent her to see PCP today. According to her, she is not in pain at all but she was afraid when she took off the dressing it would bleed. Thanks!

Just trying to help, didn't claim to be perfect.  cushingoid/Cushing disease, effect, phenomenon, pituitary basophilism, response, suture, syndrome, etc. according to Stedman's.  Just call me "you'd be wrong" then from now on.  That won't bother me a bit.  I've got broad shoulders!  LOL    Hope you have a nice day!

Because of oligomenorrhea, she did start birth control pills and stopped them approximately 1 year ago.  At first she had menstrual cycles every 4-6 weeks, but about the last 6 months or so she has been having 2 periods a month.  She brings a schedule with her that shows that she had s/l promera or proberus from 06/07/06 to 06/14/06.  her times of bleeding were 06/24/06, 07/07/06, 07/25/06, and 08/06/06, and she bleeds about 3-7 days each time.  She has no moliminal symptoms and no evidence of ovulatory symptoms.
