BNP (brain natriuretic peptide) 1388. sm
Subject: BNP (brain natriuretic peptide) 1388. sm

BMP stands for basic metabolic profile which contains electrolytes, etc., which you mentioned in the sentence preceding. BNP is generally a single value and numbers can get pretty high.

Stedman's Path/Lab would be helpful to you. It lists standardized lab values in the back of the book, 49 pages!, definitely worth the price of the book.

You have to listen to the diagnoses to figure out which one to use because the doctors rarely specifically differentiate between the two.  I had one who used to say, "That's B, N as in Nancy, P."

I would type it under PLAN and type what is dictated.
Subject: I would type it under PLAN and type what is dictated.

I have had that happen to me before, and I was told by QA to not move things around in the report, maybe that is the same for you, but if I were typing this report, I would type it in the order as is dictated, even if that means typing it under the heading PLAN.  Also, his vitals were probably taken at the end of the exam as they were repeated, so it would make sense to type them again under that heading.  Hope that helps!
