Drug Names - Websites???
Subject: Drug Names - Websites???

I hope you all can help!  I am in search of a good website to distinguish drug names.  I am looking specifically to be able to distinguish brand names from generic and am interested in which should be capitalized, and which not?  Any good sites out there that aren't all lists with all drug names starting in caps even though they shouldn't be?

Subject: Top-10 MT Websites

Hello - I'm trying to collect a top 10 (or maybe even a top 20) list of the most helpful websites for MTs for my office. So far, I have...

www.rxlist.com, www.drugstore.com, www.stedmans.com, www.onelook.com, www.dictionary.com

Basically, I'm looking for a broad range of websites to help with the following categories:  Medications, Words, Anatomy/Disease, Dictionaries, and Physician/Healthcare Facility names.

Any help would you can provide will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!  Christy :)

Here is another website that can help you with abbreviations. You can either put in the abbreviation and it will give you all the options for that abbrevation. Or you can put in the definition and it will show you the correct abbreviation:

Good luck! :-)

Subject: gram-negative, lactose-negative rods is correct. I found a couple of interesting websites SM

after doing a google search for gram-negative, lactose-negative rods.  Basically testing organisms to see if they ferment lactose (positive) or not (negative).

Also, just FYI, gram-negative is not capitalized.

Probably too late, I'm sure.  Better late than never, I guess.

Acute polynephritis (APN) is commonly caused by an ascending urinary tract infection with E. coli. In the etiology of APN, besides the virulence of the bacterium, the resistance of the host and the reactive inflammation play an important part.
