stegnotic.  Found it using OneLook and then checked it in Dorland's.  It fits the s/l and the context.  Do you think that's what he's saying?

I learned a new word today and it's only 6:45 a.m.!

Might be either "ischemic or stenotic" disease

Subject: OB/GYN s/l sadderdick (for stenotic cervix), on the tip of my tongue, tired, help please

I know this and is on the tip of my tongue... Sounds like "sadderdick" placement. Patient is having OB/GYN surgery but has a stenotic cervix. Could somebody help me? Gosh, tired.

Thanks!

Subject: Little area. Same as Kiesselbach area.

I found it in my Sted's Electronic Dictionary. Really good source for everything.

Little area

Syn: Kiesselbach area.

Kiesselbach area

an area on the anterior portion of the nasal septum rich in capillaries (Kiesselbach plexus) and often the seat of epistaxis. Syn: Little area.

Everytime I tried, I kept getting "Bednarski" which does not apply to incisions, but I kept leaving out the "h" before the "k."

Guess that's why I never tell someone they should "try googling" -- they probably already did. I can try and try some days and not get the answer.

It really had puzzled me how you were able to google and find this odd incision, although since I was just "reading posts" and "wasting time" not working on my own report, I just flipped over to google quick searched, and then tried a few incision type googles, when I didn't find I gave up. Had I been typing the report, I might have searched a bit more.

In any case, I was not the original poster, but just wanted to let you know sometimes even if the rest of us find the answer quickly, the original poster may be have searched a long time before posting the question.

Have a great day.

But sounded more like a V than a B and she clearly said "thiaPENTA". Grrrr. Wish they would learn how to pronounce this stuff.

Subject: Thanks, I finally settled on pantoprazole..(sm)

I found it after a LONG search..it's the generic for Protonix and the patient had stomach problems so that's what I used!!  It was a nurse practitioner dictating..I wish they would just spell the drug name instead of trying to pronounce it.  If they would spell what they are reading, even if it isn't right, it would be a lot better to search from what is spelled than what they say.  Most of the time they don't even come close to pronouncing something the way it is supposed to be.  Thanks!

Either this word was a new one on me or I just have not typed it in ages.  The doctor was ESL so he was hard to understand.

Word for the day?

Refractoloxanticomb (brain) though it won't come up in Google unless you separate the refract and xanticomb.

I think, if they truly do take an English 101 course, they must also take a "made up medical terminology class".  LOL.
