I found this on site for patents for heart valves: http://www.freepatentsonline.com/6797002.html

"If extending substantially in the same plane, the post prevents outward bellowing of the valve leaflets, while if extending substantially out of the plane, the post simply functions to connect and modify the shape of opposite sides of the annulus."

I have that same argument with my spellchecker.
Subject: I have that same argument with my spellchecker.

Couldn't document it in my reference books, only got 800 hits on Google.  However, the doctor said it and QA changed it back to brachioplexus from brachial plexus, so I added it to the spellchecker dictionary.  It's another one of those undocumentable words that are becoming commonly used.
Not nice? Well just for the sake of argument:

If it sounds like "parenteral antibiotics" why would you not google that before coming here to ask for help?  Honestly I think some people who post here are just plain lazy.  I see them asking questions all the time that if they just did a google search of what they think they hear, they would have their answer.

And sorry, I found the question to be funny so I laughed.  Sue me.

Just to clarify, your answer is tampon. Ignore the argument below. SM
Subject: Just to clarify, your answer is tampon. Ignore the argument below. SM

Definition for tampon, according to Doland's Medical Dictionary:

tampon (tam·pon) (tam´pon) [Fr. “stopper, plug”]  a pack; a pad or plug made of cotton, sponge, or other material; variously used in surgery to plug the nose, vagina, etc., for the control of hemorrhage or the absorption of secretions.

(emphasis mine)

A tampon is simply a plug which can be used in a body cavity (male or female) to absorb blood, sections, etc.

Are you sure you have reset the backup? sm

I would take the tape out, shut down the transcriber, set it as low as possible and try again, you may have it set wrong. I never used the backup at all. If you have to, why not purchase a Sanyo instead of a Sony as they're cheaper, can pick one up locally and there won't be tapes much longer anyway, I assume. It must be very annoying. I have had to do this at a local office supply (Staples for us) either late at night or early in the a.m., and chose a cheaper brand than Sony, ? Olympus, Sanyo, etc. Sometimes you can't wait, been there. Check out Martel on the web, used to ship overnight. Good luck. Some docs still use tapes, I know, you just have to go along to get along.
backup level of pain
Subject: backup level of pain

She describes her (s/l backup) level of pain as roughly 4/10, but it can rise a bit higher with overhead work use.

I don't really think backup works here. The doctor says it really fast.

Do you have any suggestions of what it could be instead?
Thanks for the backup ~ greatly appreciated!

s/l bedical backup.... doesnt sound like medical
Subject: s/l bedical backup.... doesnt sound like medical

This is a letter concerning your June 21, 2006 correspondence in which you alleged that I tried to admit a patient without a proper **bedical** backup.

I performed surgery on a patient who is 307 pounds who is being treated at Medical University for a variety of medical problems.  She was completely cleared by Medical University for surgery.  I made a decision at that time to have her for 23-hour observation and pain control until the next morning.

Thanks for you backup. Not ESL and actually great dictator. Just missing this one I guess. THx!
