just looking for "flex" and I cannot come up with anything.  Sorry.  I bet she's saying Keflex, but her mind is probably moving faster than her lips.  Sometime it happens.  Sorry wasn't much help.  I tried though.

and before I e-mail my PS, I wanted to see if I was wrong.  I researched but seems I was right.  I was corrected for using Entero Vu contrast - I was told it is Enteroview.  According to Stedman's it is Entero Vu plus I have been Radiology for 10 years and always used this spelling.  I was also corrected on using centimeters per second - I use cm/s but was corrected to cm/sec.  Any help on these?  Thanks!

Yes, I checked medical references...
Subject: Yes, I checked medical references...

I checked Google and Stedman's in several places!

I want to tell you that Dorland is a little outdated and oldfashiomed.

This is NOT an EXCEPTION, this I can tell you, because I studied Latin.

It is decubitus / decubiti

or

decubitus ulcer / decubitus ulcers.

The OP said that the doctor dictated 'decubiti'. If this is on top of it a 'verbatim' account and she types decubitus, whereas the doctor dictated 'decubiti', then she WILL REALLY BE IN TROUBLE.

IF YOU LIKE IT OR NOT !

And why do you threaten me?

I think you are a QA????
Figures!!!!
Any good sites for OPs?

Does anyone have good sites for getting more "familiar" with op notes?  Getting ready to dive in and wanted more references....kind of nervous...

Thanks!

Portal sites
Subject: Portal sites

You heard it right. In Orthopedics, you'll come across the procedure of "arthroscopy" quite a bit. The Ortho surgeon makes small incisions called "portals", through one of which he inserts the scope to look inside the joint, and through the others he inserts other instruments as needed for cutting, shaving, biopsies, etc. Once he completes the procedure, he closes those incisions which become the "portal sites" that he is talking about. He obviously is checking during the followup visit to see if there is any infection at the incision sites.
