Subject: sure does...it's Ficat stage IV! sm for explanation :)

Radiographic staging of AVN was first proposed by Ficat and Arlet in the 1960s and later amended in the 1970s. This 4-staged system delineates the natural history of AVN from normal radiographs (stage I) to cystic changes and sclerosis (stage II) to subchondral collapse or femoral head flattening (stage III) to finally joint space narrowing (stage IV). However, this system does not differentiate certain phases in disease progression (eg, subchondral vs femoral head collapse), nor does it quantify the size and extent of the lesion.

osteonecrosis- pt had "a bone scan significant for area of intense focal [s/l bony labeling]"?
Subject: osteonecrosis- pt had "a bone scan significant for area of intense focal [s/l bony labeling]"?

The whole sentence reads thusly:

The patient also underwent bone scan, this being significant for an area of intense [s/l focal bony labeling] involving the lateral epicondyle of the right femur in an individual without history of trauma, and given his history of aseptic necrosis of the femoral head, it was felt that this might be reflective of osteonecrosis including "osteochondritis desiccans."

Thanks in advance for any help.

Drug search by classification
Subject: Drug search by classification

I'm back in acute care, and until the new Sauder's drug book comes out next month, are there any sites to look up drugs by category? I just want to put in a key word like "antibiotic" and have a list of them pop up. Ideally it would say what they were used for.

Surely there is such a thing as that?

100 mg/m2

I would suggest leaving a blank if you cannot document.
