x-ray phase/sensory phase?
Subject: x-ray phase/sensory phase?

OBJECTIVE:  The neck is otherwise supple.  Chest is clear.  X-ray (s/l phase is equal to sensory phase) consistent with her COPD.  CVS is regular.  Abdomen tender in the left lower quadrant without guarding, rebound or organomegaly.  The lower extremities without edema.

ASSESSMENT/PLAN

  1. Painful area in the left posterior lateral neck.  We will recheck in the next 2 weeks.

  2. COPD, stable.

Does that make sense? (x-ray phase equal to sensory phase?)

Thanks in advance for any help on this one.

Alpha I (inflatable penile prosthesis) is also correct according to Stedman's GI & GU Words. Can't find the "OGE" though. The abbreviation "IPP" stands for inflatable penile prosthesis. Maybe doc saying IPP instead of OGE? Hope this helps.

Drug study phase, English word ? (sm)
Subject: Drug study phase, English word ? (sm)

I think it's just an English word or words.

"The patient was admitted for the s/l 'in-portient' phase of the Ovation '10-15' intravenous carbamazepine study."

He's trying to say this so carefully it's unbelievable, but I don't know this in-portient drug study phase terminology, and so I can't even find a reference to 10-15 or 10:15, even though I can find articles about an IV carbamazepine drug study.

Hepp I'm tupid.

Osm therapy
Subject: Osm therapy

First, is that right?  If so, is that considered slang?  Would you word it osmotic when it says "we will continue osm therapy with mannitol"?  Then, he goes on to say "we will follow osms and electrolytes."  If that's slang, how would you expand the second osm?

Thanks a bunch!
