Subject: I make 3-4 times more being paid by the line. sm

I think it depends on your speed, accuracy, and hospital dictators. If you have always been an employee paid by the hour, you might want to stick with that. The transition to production pay is not easy; however, I have a problem making transitions to employee per hour pay. So, everyone is different.

Just think really long and hard about it.

Monitor your line count daily for a few weeks and calculate that by say 8 or 9 cpl on a 65 character line and see which his more, by the hour or by the line.

Remember, companies base your health care insurance on your production. So, if you need health insurance and have a slow few weeks with no work, you may lose your health insurance temporarily.

You have a good thing, you might want to stick with it.

IC production pay works for me. I do not need health insurance, my hubby takes care of that, and I commit to production per day not hours per day. I need the flexibility.

Good luck in whatever you decide.
