Abduction is movement AWAY from the center of the body (like abducting someone - you take them away).


Adduction is movement TOWARD the center of the body.


So unless you can see the patient or the x-rays or whatever, you may just have to listen carefully.

or stumbling over the word....could it possibly be "oblique" ?  (pronounced by the doc as "o-bleek" instead of "o-blike")


That's the only alternative knee view I can think of other than a sunrise view, but sunrise couldn't be mistaken for your sound-alike description at all.

....there is wedging of the superior articular plates of the bodies of T5, T10, T11 and T12.  This may only represent ...s/l smorling or smarling. 


I have never had this, sound familiar??
