He's the doctor. And he probably dictated what he wanted - I have typed an LCL reconstruction for an ACL injury, but this was a confusing dictation for a couple of reasons.
However, I was taught as you were - just type what the doc says and don't change anything except grammar/spelling. That way, I'm covered.
