cardiac procedure
Subject: cardiac procedure

Thanks for the input, y'all. I almost coded, but eventually sent it on. I decided he was trying to say "triquetral isthmus," or so I hope! The only other thing I could get was "electrophysiology & radiofrequency ablation." It didn't sound like any of the others I'd typed in the past, frankly. Sure do appreciate it!

Now I think I need to find someone who can do a quick ECT on me, and I should be fine by the AM...

word help on cardiac procedure, please

Y'all:  This one is a blankety, blank, blank report in every way possible (SF, dictator, the whole bit).  I would've cut my losses and moved on, but this has been dictated so many times I'm already screwed, so here goes.  Procedure:  electro_______ & radiofrequency ablation (pt has atrial flutter).  This is what is all over the report:  ___tr*q*l?_____ isthmus.  Those are the main letters I'm picking up. Can't find it anywhere yet.

Any ideas?  Thanks in advance!  Gotta get back to this.  I'm already down for the count thanks to my selection for the evening.

PISA- cardiac procedure
Subject: PISA- cardiac procedure

I have a RN who is very unclear in her dictation.  It is regarding a patient with Coronary artery disease.  She states he had a "pizza" and had a stent placed with percutaneous translution (does she mean transillumination?).  Can anyone give me some feedback on these two procedures- the "pizza" and percutaneous translution.  Thanks

night hawk
Subject: night hawk

The term "night hawk" is a slang in reference to the radiologist covering (fellow/resident) that particular evening. In essence, this CT scan can have a preliminary reading by the patient's surgeon and/or physician, or the covering radiologist (night hawk).

The action of this amino acid in brain functions is clear with its link to dopamine as well as norepinephrine, but it is also helpful in suppressing the appetite and reducing body fat, production of skin and hair pigment, the proper functioning of the thyroid as well as the pituitary and adrenal gland.

It is used for stress reduction and may be beneficial in narcolepsy, fatigue, anxiety, depression, allergies, headaches as well as drug withdrawal. In a study, using soldiers, tyrosine proved effective in alleviating stress and keeping them more alert.
