I type it with the hyphen for the same reason you want to. The exact term is not in my Stedman's, but dual-everything else is hyphenated.

If I'm not mistaken, I think I had looked up Permacath on the internet and it didn't come up. A few of the doctors I transcribe for say Permacath, but I always change it.

ChemPort and PermCath--is this right?
Subject: ChemPort and PermCath--is this right?

I cannot get the hang of things like ChemPort and PermaCath or PermCath or the like.  My eyesight is going because I've been squinting for 20 minutes trying to find either of these in my black surgical word book with no luck.  If anyone knows what these are or a reliable website to find out, please let me know. I guess I should have sprung for the more expensive book with bigger print...

Subject: PermCath, permacath and Perma-Cath,

Okay, this one gets me too, however, the manufacture I found is listed as Quinton and they make a hemodialysis catheter called PermCath.  I also saw this notation at an Oxford Medical College website referenced.  I use PermCath.
It is PermCath, no such thing as Permacath or Perma-Cath.
