Subject: THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thank you again here is what I found since I know now how to spell it

Q: I transcribe for a hematologist oncololgist who prescribes what sounds like "Clax solution." From his context I believe it is an oral rinse similar to nystatin for oral thrush. I have not been successful in finding out what it is. I found one Web reference to a detergent but could verify anything further.

A:I have not had as much success as I would like defining Klack's solution. After contacting a compound pharmacist, a nurse educator with MD Anderson Cancer Center, Orlando, as well as a rheumatologist, the best answer is from a pharmacist himself:  "There are all kinds of compounds out there, each is specifically compounded to the physician's "recipe" so to speak. I have not heard of this or found it when I searched for it. It is not a manufactured name ... there is no specific Klack's solution."

All the Internet references that I could find, as you are already aware, indicate this is a saliva substitute and can be used as a treatment for oral thrush. It is apparently a compound made up of nystatin, tetracycline, Benadryl and cortisone. At least we can come up with a common spelling for this, if nothing else.
