the great thing about MT work is that you learn something new every single day - it's always a learning experience even 25+ years later....

glissement, you won't get what you need. You need to limit your results to those that are relevant to your topic by adding associated terms to your search. Try the two words "glissement" and "knee" (without the quotes). There will be a lot of results in French, but even if you can't read French, you will be able to see that they are relevant to your topic. There are, however, a few that use "glissement" in an English context, which should give you more confidence. In any event, it's your initials on the report, so you handled it in the way that is most comfortable for you. I could be wrong, of course, but I suspect that it will turn out to be "glissement".

trademark or register information from the manufacturer does not make it Nitropaste but rather nitro (glycerin) paste. Just my opinion. There ARE registered names for nitro paste but this I believe is doc slang for generic nitroglycerin paste.

The patient will be seen for followup in a week.

Followup one week.

The patient came in for follow up of her acne. (I believe this can be hyphenated to follow-up.)

The patient will be seen for followup care in a month. (This, too, some MTs hyphenate to follow-up but I do not.)

The BOS has this very issue - Book of Style by the AAMT 2nd edition  - discussed in it.

Subject: We learn every day -- don't be afraid to ask your QA why? ..see msg

I'v been doing this for quite a few years, and last night had a report where I heard "Shoreman kyphosis," researched and found quite a few websites spelled this way, didn't really check to see source of websites, just that there were a LOT of them. (slap me with a wet noodle, I was tired and brain-dead because I know better)

Anyway, QA send me an email this morning with correct spelling, "Scheuermann kyphosis." citing Dorlands online.

You can bet I created a shorthand entry for that spelling immediately, and of course, sent of an email to my QA person letting her know how much I appreciated the feedback -- I never have questioned my research without the feedback!

Have a great day.
And we learn something new today! :) Thanks, 50! nm

them is to do them repeatedly. When you get your QA feedback, make sure you keep it for further reference. I have been doing this for 25 years and there are still docs I can't understand and/or cringe when I get them. Some of them are totally impossible.
