I don't have a dictionary right close but I think the word is blaise (with an umlat above the "e."  If this is the right word, it means something like "nonchalant or don't care one way or the other."  Let me know if that works.

I can tell you have the makings of a good transcriptionist... you can "hear" the words. May not be able to spell them all yet, but you are "hearing" pretty close to what is being said... keep on plugging away. It gets easier!!

Thanks to those who helped me
Subject: Thanks to those who helped me

on Saturday with my question regarding the correct spellling of Permacath or PermCath, or Perma-Cath.  I have been typing PermCath all the time until this doc specifically says Perma Cath, with the A.  I do have resource books.  I have the Surgical Word Book by Tessier.  On page 1614, Third Edition, it has Perma-Cath catheter and the Perma-Cath drain and on the next page it has PermCath dual-lumen catheter.  This was main reason for asking the question and you can see why I was confused since it is spelled both ways; with and without the A.

Thanks again.

To figure out if it should be follow up or followup (never follow-up as far as I know)

Replace followup with eat. If it makes sense it should be follow up.

Example "The patient will follow up with me in three weeks"

The patient will eat with me in three weeks"

It makes sense so follow up would be used.

But if you had

"The patient returns for a six month follow up"

and you replace it

"The patient returns for a six month eat"

That doesn't make sense, so you would use followup.

Hope this helps, it was an eye opener for me, as I was the queen of followup issues!!!

Wow none of these ppl helped u at all
Subject: Wow none of these ppl helped u at all

did they lol.

I was hoping someone here could clear it up for me as well but oh well.

It totally confuses me too, and after reading and re-reading in a moment of perfect clarity I got it, and then when I try to apply it to the sentence in question its gone again. But cheer up, maybe QA doesn't know either LOL.

I don't get it. Why parentheses around "negative rod" ? and what is the -502.92 m kg ? meters per kilogram? mg per kg? 10 to the 5th would be 100,000, I believe...

If this is in the middle of a procedure, for instance, sentences before and after would have oriented people to what was expected.

Please cut and paste more information next time.
