Doc says patient feels he's lost his "explosive ability in s/l tracking opponents." Does this make sense? I tried to make it into tackling opponents, but it sounds very clear. Does anyone know if this is football speak? Thanks.

I've never heard of a corner back, but it doesn't sound like he's saying quarterback.

But when I search google, the patient is listed as a DB. Can someone clue me in, please?

I've already let one report go with quarterback, but now I'm concerned about it and don't want to make another mistake.

Is there a corner back...if so how do I type it? And what's a DB? Thanks.

Don't know if that is a coincidence or not.

This is not a place where one can vent one's frustrations, do it somewhere else.

What is a 'hoot?' I am not used to slang expressions of this inferior kind, I do not live in an ambience like this.

I had to laugh at that one. I like the idea of a single one being called a support "ho"

Subject: This is correct but there is a catch..

if the doc dictates "eleven thirty", then you would type it as 11:30 and make sure you use the digital format throughout the remainder of the report to keep consistency.  (i.e.: The patient had a palpable lump at 11:30 in the right breast and at 1:00 in the left breast.) Do not type 11:30 o'clock (even though some will actually dictate it that way).

If all locations are on the "whole" hour then you do use the format of 11 o'clock.

A 22-gauge long spinal needle was inserted directly into the (s/l-THEP)  joint.  It's not hip.  I'm sure of that.  It sounds like it starts with a TH or an F.  This is for a fusion for a spinal fracture.

THANKS!

allergy test results...need help, she rattles them off so fast I can't catch some of the words. s

The patient’s allergy tests were reviewed and positive for dust mites, Alternaria, "homenthum spurium", timothy grass, cedar, mesquite, marsh, "utter pigmia", and sage.

Thanks for any help.

Gee, ya think? You should see some of the stuff

I don't know who they got working there sometimes.  So much conflicting stuff it's unreal.  I call them on it every time though and send it to my super.   It's hard enough without the conflicting feedback.

Example:

Dictator said HPI (for a heading), so I typed it HISTORY OF PRESENT ILLNESS.  I get QA feedback that says, "If the dictator dictates the header as HPI, type it in as HPI."  So I'm like okey dokey.Next time I get HPI I do just that.  Then I get a nasty note.  NEVER, EVER abbreviate in the headers, always spell it out.  I'm  like geeesh!

One told me to type out 2:00 O'clock (for position, i.e., cornea).
