V1 V2 V3 refer to dermatomes, not to be confused with VI, VII, VIII which are ROMAN NUMERALS (6, 7, 8 respectively) associated with cranial nerves; so, if they say "V-one" they are referencing dermatomes not cranial nerves...hope that helps?
