Can find the abbreviation ANL everywhere on Occupational Therapy sites and they go into great detail
Subject: Can find the abbreviation ANL everywhere on Occupational Therapy sites and they go into great detail about what it entails, but nothing states exactly what the abbreviation stands for... see below

from www.activehomerehab.com

Functional Retraining Programs: Based on functional problems identified in the in-home ANL assessment, the occupational therapist will teach the client and their caregivers, strategies to increase independence with functional tasks such as dressing, bathing and meal preparation. Homemaking retraining programs may also be warranted in which education and training are provided regarding pacing, work simplification, proper body mechanics and use of assistive devices (if necessary), to facilitate return to pre-accident homemaking activities

Tooooooooooo long ago. :)

I'll have to remember that in case I ever have the need to go back to neuro.  Not one of my favorites, kinda sad, but okay at the time.

When I said "cool" I really meant it.  I like to pass through word help occasionally.  You never know what you're going to find.

Every little bit helps.

this is a pretty cool site to hear/see the sounds
Subject: this is a pretty cool site to hear/see the sounds

http://www.blaufuss.org/

S refers to sound: First, second, third and fourth, (S1, S2, S3, and S4).

A2 and P2, the other post mentions, refer to aortic and pulmonic valve closure, A2 for aortic valve closure and P2 for pulmonic valve closure.

If you haven't done cardiology, of even if you have but just a little bit, this is a neat site to see. Put on your earphones!!

Portal sites
Subject: Portal sites

You heard it right. In Orthopedics, you'll come across the procedure of "arthroscopy" quite a bit. The Ortho surgeon makes small incisions called "portals", through one of which he inserts the scope to look inside the joint, and through the others he inserts other instruments as needed for cutting, shaving, biopsies, etc. Once he completes the procedure, he closes those incisions which become the "portal sites" that he is talking about. He obviously is checking during the followup visit to see if there is any infection at the incision sites.

I use google first and get to healthgrades dot com if I know the state and then I only click on the CACHE button thru google and only the MD I'm searching for will highlight in all the states.  I hope I made myself understood in that sentence.  I also use anywho dot com and 411 dot com, 411locate dot com, dr-411 dot com, and last but far from least:
