no luck
Subject: no luck

It sounds exactly like I wrote it, but doctors have been known to create their own words and ways of phrasing sentences. It is just confusing for some of us new MT's. :-( Thanks so much for your help.

TAPER NEEDLES

  • Used in easily penetrated tissues such as peritoneum, abdominal viscera, subcutaneous layers, etc.
  • Minimizes tissue "cut-out". Smallest possible hole in tissue is created with minimal tissue cutting.
  • Also ideal for closing hollow organs to prevent damage.

REVERSE CUTTING NEEDLES

  • Used in tough, difficult to penetrate tissues such as skin, fascia, ligament, etc.
  • Less tissue "cut-out" than standard cutting needles.

warranted.  In my experience, the KVO rate was used during a transesophageal echocardiogram wherein if the patient needed a bolus of a med, then the line was there to give it.  Saline was given at a KVO rate, but I think it also (slow drip) allowed hydration for the patient while undergoing the procedure.  I believe these drips given at KVO rate can be started a lot of times in the ER to allow venous access.

the meaning in an ADDENDUM.
How do you know what the doctor meant? GOOD GRIEF, are you the know-it-all (hyphens must be put here, as it is used as a noun!) on this board? Get over yourself!

Who understands what it means without an explanation?
The MOST obvious is apparently like I understood it:
5 packs in 1 year.

Maybe the doctor really meant this, 5 packs per year, so essentially a nonsmoker.

GOOD GRIEF, get over yourself!
