Phelan's or Phalan's?
Subject: Phelan's or Phalan's?

Which is it?  I have found it both ways.  I normally use Phalan's but my doctor just made a point of spelling Phelan's.  Can anyone help?

The doctor said sign.  Here's the context: Tinel's sign is positive over the left carpal tunnel but not the right carpal tunnel.  Tinel's sign is negative over the ulnar grooves bilaterally.  He has a negative Adson's maneuver bilaterally.  He has a negative Phelan's sign bilaterally.

Why, is there a difference between sign and maneuver?
