Subject: Stedman's Cardiology and net came up with:

I looked under Cox and poor renal function and both came up with:

Cox organism
Cox proportional hazards model
Cox stepwise regression model

Again, all these terms are direct out of Stedman's Cardiology and they cross reference via Google when you add in poor renal function, so it seems they are indeed related.  I know squatola about cardiology though, it's one of my poorer backgrounds.  Sorry you are having a rough go of it, but welcome back to transcription!

Can someone please look up Dobbhoff tube for me and tell me what page it is on and what edition they have of the Stedman's?  That would be Dobbhoff with TWO b's and TWO f's for my purposes, here. I need that particular spelling.

I would be SO grateful!

(Background - I was on here a while ago asking about this word. Someone was nice enough to answer me with the correct spelling as found in the Stedman's GI/GU.  I used that spelling -- the one above.  QA came after me.  I defended myself by citing Stedman's GI/GU.  QA has asked me for the edition and the page number.  Well, I don't have the durn reference MYSELF, one of you nice people helped me.)  THANKS!

it as OB-GYN on the cover, as part of the name of the book, but when you look it up under O, it shows OB/GYN as the abbreviation for obstetrics and gynecology.

I am in the habit of using a hyphen and I am not sure if I am consistent with all caps or title case, so don't feel too bad for being confused.

I looked under cyst.

I see this word both ways so much and have had so many MDs spell it wrong in different situations that my head swims when it comes up in dictation now. So I just look it up in the phrase it's being used in. Then I can use the book to back up the way I did it if anybody argues.

a real time saver to have because eye terminology is tricky. This book is a great investment. If you can't spend full price, even a used one is good enough, especially if you don't do many eye surgery reports (the instruments and supplies are always being added to).
