Subject: try this

A pack year is a quantification of cigarette smoking. A pack year is equivalent to smoking a 20-cigarette pack a day for one year. A smoker who smokes 20 cigarettes a day for five years would then have a five pack year level of exposure.

If a person smokes 30 cigarettes a day for 40 years, would have a pack year of 60

1.5 x 40 = 60 pack years

A X B = pack years

A = packs per day = cigarettes/20

B = years of smoking
