Under physical exam, my doc says "There is a healed right upper parasternal surcigal scar."  The patient had a thymectomy.  I'm supposed to put this under one of the usual headings for a PE, should it be Neck or Thorax?  (The dcotor usually dictates the heading, but did not this time.) If a patient has had spine surgery, the MRI is more than likely done with contrast.  The contrast causes the MRI to "signal" when the contrast is bright in any area.  That's what it means.
