22,000 lines per pay period, 4 years. nm
nm
After 8 years in the business, I start buying presents in August, cause I know the slow period SM

is coming around the holidays.  :-)

Not to say we dont all starve and Im not totally stressed out come December, but at least Ive got my gifts :-)

Will be about 5-6 years for us, thinking along same lines (sm)
Have noted most of the RVs now have computer desks built in too. I am hoping that they way technology is advancing it will be easier yet to do this in the next 5 or so years.

Good luck, enjoy.
In 1-1/2 years, I've never missed my lines
Last Christmas was slow on my primary account, but I had backup accounts to cover. This Christmas, all 4 of my accounts were bombarded with work and it has not let up. All 4 of these accounts need a new hire to help keep TAT. That one time last year was the only time it got close to running out, but if one account gets low, we have the option to wait until later in the day for the dictation to come in and get lines in then.
I have been there for 3 years on the same account. sm
I have not seen this happen, have about 15 friends and relatives who also work for Keystrokes and would recommend it to anyone for radiology. Yes, sometimes accounts are behind when they take them on, but they are permanent accounts.

I agree - same account for 4 years.
I do have secondary accounts, though. This is a good thing so I never run out of work.
Puleeze! I heard that monthly for 2 years. I will believe it when I can count lines on it. nm
:+
2000 lines, I havent done that in years. What work type do you do? nm
xxxx
I too have asked for a different account as mine of 3 years..sm
has now consistently been out of work...as well as my secondary! Up until recently I never even had time to do my secondary as my primary had tons of work but suddenly neither have. I have emailed Dorothy and indicated I needed more only to be told things will pick up. This is not a holiday thing as it has been happening for months now. I am looking for at least another part-time job which may turn into full time. I think we are getting the run-around and they have over hired and want to keep it that way so the reports are running a few minutes behind the dictators. Also, now that they have over hired they probably don't care too much if some of us have to leave! Bad situation for what was a great company.
I've been on same account 4 years; lots of OT lately.
nm
Not one account lost in over 3 years. You're wrong. sm
They just chose not to bid on one that went to voice recognition but have had 100% renewal on contracts.
My company lost the account I had worked on for 5 years. Webmedx got the
account so I followed it.   I have interviewed with about a dozen companies the last year and out of all of them the only ones I considered were Keystrokes and Webmedx.
Actually, it is not a MQ account. They have gotten dozens of MQ accounts over the past 5 years thou
The account that everyone is referring to is high ESL, very Hispanic, in Texas. It is not bad once you get used to the doctors. It is huge and difficult but not impossible and not bad.

They also have 4 other new accounts in acute care they are hiring for and 2 other excisting accounts that are growing.

With all I see on other companies not having enough work, I am grateful for Keystrokes. They keep growing and improving and were the best move I ever made!
That's not always true. I have been editing a Powerscribe account for 2 years. The work sm
has actually steadily increased due to fewer and fewer radiologists self-editing their own work.

I know of at least 4 other Powerscribe accounts at Keystrokes that are also increasing in volume for the same reason.

I am sorry that the account you were on with Webmedx went to total self-edit. I know that Keystrokes had a few that did that too, just not all of them.
I talked to them today. They want 3 years in a hospital or 5 years combination sm
hospital and at home or clinic and at home. For radiology, they want 3 years full time radiology. I thought they were very nice and I have a few friends that work for them and are happy. The pay seems average to high for what I am seeing now. I think they are 0.08 per line or 1.08 for radiology. Beats what I will have with the new MQ program.
Honda is 11 years old, 190,000 miles . Toyota was 15 years old and 279,000 superb

been with spheris 4.5 years, easy platform, good clinic account
nm
Yeah I had applied for the Escription account (before I knew the insulting pay rate) with years of
experience and no one bothered to get back to me. Once they told me what they paid, I would have never accepted anyway, but I find it odd that they would not pursue someone with years of experience. I guess they knew there would be no one I would accept their pay. Apparently, they are hoping some desperate people apply, which is NOT me but best wishes to them.
I worked on site for many years. I've been doing this for 10 years... sm
I've worked on site, at home, for small MTSOs, for nationals, for hospitals. I've been paid per line, per minute, and per hour. I've been an MT and a QA. I have ALWAYS worked weekends and ALWAYS worked nights for the shift differential because MTs can't survive on 6 or 7 cents a line. At least I can't and I type 105 wpm.

I've BEEN dedicated from day 1, sister, so you are barking up the wrong tree.
30 years - this WAS my career. The last few years you guys have ruined it.
You work 9-5? Big deal. I work more than you do. I bet I work harder too. Treat US with respect, lady!

Don't talk to us like that and don't expect us to kiss your feet. Kiss ours for a change!
See if you'll be producing more after 30 years of MT'ing and at 50+ years old.
I don't think so. My income increased every year also, until I reached age 50 and 30 years of MT'g, been downhill ever since.
It wasn't tough 5 years ago. Or 10 years ago, yet
How to you spell

12,000 lines per pay period
It's a pretty strict requirement for all full-time MTs to make their lines in order to remain full-time and keep benefits. Obviously, if there are valid circumstances that prevent you from making your 12,000 lines, they are very understanding. They will help everyone in any way they can.
20,000 lines a pay period would be wonderful.
I'm lucky to get 10,000 to 12,000.
12,000 lines per pay period to be considered SE...nm
nm
12,000 lines/pay period not 1200
I'm sure it was a typo, and I'm not picking on anyone, but I just want to clarify that it is 12,000 lines per pay period that is required of an SE which is roughly 1200 lines a day.  Hope this helps!
1200 lines/pay period?? nm
x
1200 lines a pay period

The requirement for direct deposit is 14,000 lines a pay period CONSISTENTLY, so in breaking it down over a 13-14 day period, a bit over 1,000 lines a day -- hope you can brush up on you math too

I meant to say 12,000 lines per pay period (nm)

For FT it is 11000 lines per pay period.

x number of lines per pay period. I have sm
insurance for myself and husband and it runs right at 200 a pay period but it is fantastic insurance. It has only gone up once since 2003 when I started working for Webmedx.
I manage to get almost 20,000 lines per pay period typing.
if you really must know.
Insurance way too high. 12,000 lines per pay period.
All they offer are the few days of PTO. That does not include sick days or personal days and if you take a holiday off you will also have to use PTO to get paid for it, only pay for holidays if you work um.

My friend told me that there is no way she will be able to make the minimum line requirement after being switched to a VA account. She also said that on a whole their accounts are lousy and QA is very inconsistent.

I think its 6000 lines per pay period and 20 hours.....but

Is there anyone working for Keystrokes that has not been able to get 12,000 lines per pay period? sm
If so, how is that handled by the company?
10,0001 lines per pay period for FT with benefits. nm

Did MTfor 10 years; QA for 2 years and now
doing editing of speech/voice recognition.  I find all three to be very different.  MT you start with a blank page or a template, QA you have the whole document and you need to give a good quick read and check for correct name, MRN, formatting, and all blanks, etc., and if you know the MT you do not necessarily need to give the whole document voice to typed - editing is a whole 'nother thing.  From what I have seen so far - you have a document and you cannot count on anything being correct - you need to change almost everything in some cases - which is more difficult than a blank sheet as there is a lot of deleting and it is confusing.  It can be helpful because some of the medical words are in there and some of the drugs can be correct - and although I have found easier on the wrists some days - still very, very difficult.  You must match exactly voice to type because you cannot count on anything to be correct - JMHO
I think it just boils down to years and years of
If you kick a dog often enough, it's going to not only turn on you, but other dogs as well. Even though I made more money as an in-house MT, our managers were the worst. All greedy, self-serving women who lied, cheated, and made their way up the management ladder by stepping on those of us who worked under them. They created hostility, distrust and ill will in the office by pitting MT against MT (I suppose they figured it would keep the MT's from turning on THEM!), and the suspicion it bred created a hostile workplace like no other. I finally couldn't take it anymore and quit to work at home, for less than half the money. I'm lucky - I have an employer that at least treats me well, even though the pay stinks. But from what I've read here, that isn't the norm at all. So it's little wonder so many at-home MT's are ready to chew someone's head off. They're tired of being lied-to, cheated on line counts, disrespected, and at the same time expected to produce more and more work, with little to no mistakes. So it's little wonder we're all a mite cranky.
Some of us have been at MDI for years and years. Why should we have to start all the way at the bot

I'm fulltime IC, need to get 10,000 lines per pay period, believe parttimers need 5000 per pay
period.  They've been very flexible with me, as long as I get in the required lines by the end of the pay period.  We use DQS platform, which is user friendly, but I don't think it's as easy to get lines as on some of the other platforms, I think because of the way it counts them.  DSG is a good fit for me, always treated me fairly, pay is on time.
Had you worked for them very long? How many lines were you averaging each pay period?
That is terrible.  I am so sorry to hear that.  Best of luck to you in your new job.
6000 lines per pay period (2-weeks) and 20 hours per week that is
Just clarifying.
Full time empoyee status only -- 1000 lines/day, 10,000 per pay period.
