Are there any companies who do not micromanage you to death?

I am a good MT, produce high line counts, am reliable, yet the company I work for insists on micrmanaging us all to death.  I just want to produce excellent work and be left alone to do so.  Is that too much to ask these days?

You are so right on . . . micromanage just like the BIG companies, i.e.,

Way too many supervisors who take the good work and pass the worst along to their MT's.  Way too many in mgmt positions now.

Just send out email to all of us to email this person each and every time you do not get your lines per hour, etc, and give the reason.  So ridiculous.  Really not enough to do for mgmt team anymore.  Way too top heavy now.  Used to be a GREAT company, but must say it is not the same company I started with and not for the good.

The biggest problem within the past year is no work/low work much too often and their persistent hiring of new sups who know NOTHING about the account, and also hiring account managers who know NOTHING about the account . . . seems to find a mgmt position for those people are just not valuable enough anywhere else.

Sad . . . but true.

TT is nice, they don't micromanage
That is the whole gist of TT. They treat you like a human being instead of a number. Unfortunately they are too nice and too many things go unnoticed and/or uncorrected. And it isn't always easy to make a good line count.
Well, don't know about the micromanage part. They

Can you say micromanage and cherrypick?

Posts from Aug. say hounded by phone calls all day, micromanage your time, and

I can handle micromanage and cherries, but its the bill collectors I want to stay away
You see, to me it is more than worrying about micromanaging and cherry picking. I have been in the biz long enough to develop a rough skin. It is when I do not have enough money to pay the rent or car which bothers me. So, I take the shift least wanted b/c there will be work there, I allow micromanaging and say I will do better next time, and I learn all the toughest ESLs without complaint. You see, no one can control another person, and one should know no job is perfect out there. The only thing a person can and should do is mature-up, quit whining, and get to work so the roof stays overhead, the pantry has milk and bread and the car is still outside. Of course, that is my 2.5 cents.
Death and they still want u to work
Maybe it is the same with any job, but I remember when my mother died, the MTSO called me and said you sound back to normal. I really needed more time off but I don't get paid time off.
At another big national, I was deathly sick with bronchitis and they were still cracking the whip. I was lying down every half hour or so, but still got my lines done. I remember telling the supervisor how sick I was and she didn't say a word, not a word.
They email you to death, and
I found out they Want you to IM, but will not Force you to.
How about Death Valley?
That'd be symbolic and maybe big enough to hold everybody who'd lose their jobs! Anybody know a good photographer who'd work for free?
Death of Spryance

He is right!

The Spryance has started losing its so-called No. 1 position since 2003 when incompetent people were recruited and promoted as QA's and they had begun to outsource their work to home-based crackpots who had a few days of MT-like training!

YOU KNOW WHAT? I am sick to death of your s/m
comments after every little post or question that anyone DARES to put on this board!

Yes, please go ahead and repsond in the most childish way possible (and I know you will, as that is all you know how to do, apparently). Obviously, after your continuous verbal abuse to almost every poster on here who dared to disagree with you (yesterday), you get your jollies off of belittling anyone you can get a hold of.

Now, if anyone else on here who is over the age of 12 would like to respond to this post in a helpful manner, please feel free. If you don't know the answer to my question, then just don't reply. Not that difficult, is it?

You, SIR, are immature and should move on from this board because you have nothing constructive to say whatsoever.

In all honesty, I feel sad for anyone (like you) who lives their life as you do on a daily basis. You must feel good about yourself each night when you lay your head on your pillow, after a day of insulting and berating. What an accomplishment. Get a life.

If you choose to respond in your usual scathing manner, please do. It will only solidify the opinion that many of us here likely hold about you. Here's your chance to really show all of us worthless and incapable human beings how tough you really are. The stage is yours.

For the record, I currently earn over 10 cents per line as an employee. Not a wimp, not weak, not ignorant. Sorry to burst your bubble.
If you want to be nit-picked to death
Then by all means, hire on with Keystrokes. I had just started with them but after I saw my review, I told them I did not want to work for them. They nit-pick every comma, etc., to death and there was no way I was going to put up with that. These services get so carried away by all the insignificant crap that they just drive away anyone who is a good MT but doesn't want to put up with the nit-picking. Good luck.
You are so full of sh**. Sick to death of you and
You have to be getting bummed out trying to do damage control on here knowing that OSi is doomed!
I betcha they'd be tickled to death to get you.
Experience counts for a lot these days.
glad I'm not working myself to death..

money is not worth the time or stress. My income is supplemental to the home and for fun and/or savings, not necessary for bills, etc. And please don't bother bashing me or say I'm snooty and married money, not really the truth but fortunate enough to let my DH be the income earner, not me.

I'm just sick to death of people

downing TT all the time on this board, that's who I am. I stated facts in my post. Just because someone (or we as stated) went to Vegas, this poster was furious. Well, it stated in the email it was a BUSINESS trip, and like I said, is management supposed to sit on their duff and hope work comes their way, or should they actively pursue it? I don't call it talking down to the poster.

The "Kiss of Death?" [snort!]

They nitpick the commas to death but it depends on who you get
to QA you.  Other than that, they are a good company
They got the dreaded "blue screen of death.

Transcend - kill us with kindness while we starve to death.
Suddenly getting chatty e-mails and calls from my supervisor who never had the time of day for me before.  Of course the work has disappeared before I can get off the phone or get through the ridiculous e-mail updates about the weather, the kids, the in-laws, but nothing of substance and no helpful information is ever sent.  Guess they want us to say kind things about how nice they were after we are forced to quit and get different jobs.   This is one strange company.
OMG, if simple kindness was a job requirement, I swear some of you would starve to death!
Members here should be required to have one sign on name only. At least then people would have the opportunity to ignore the trolls. It boils my blood when a person comes here for help just to receive hateful replies. Spelling isn't the issue and if it was, you wouldn't be considerate enough to care. You just look for any opportunity to be pissy. Get a life.
Puhahaha! I'd probably end up starving to death or gathering enough vegetables being thrown to op
my own produce stand. Thanks for the chuckle. XDDDD
Why do supervisors who insist they are not paid to transcribe cherry pick accounts to death?
They could really show some leadership ability if they took the bad dictators and left a few easy reports for those of us who would appreciate an easy report once in a while.
TransTech and Medware, are these companies considered large, medium-sized or small companies? (sm)
TIA
Yikes.. That is only inline with companies like Focus and such. "Real" companies pay their MTs
decent rate.  I make over 5 cpl editing. So, if I got that slap in the face, I'd be outta there.
Do the research...most companies, and not just MT companies, do not pay for maternity leave...
we get time off but not paid...and I really don't even understand the point of you posting this...
How do you know which companies are Nationals and which are smaller companies.
Is there a list somewhere? I'm new to this.
By "most of the companies", I meant MORE than MT companies.
clarification
Sten-Tel is the platform. Different companies use it, pay and how companies run are different. nm
:P
Nobody said MT companies were not for profit companies. (sm)....
As MTs we are an important segment of what it takes for the company to thrive, but we are still just part of the whole structure.

Not trying to be argumentative, just think sometimes we get that "I'm the quarterback" attitude and forget that we can't get anywhere without our line men.
Companies that outsource to other companies?
Anyone know of any reliable companies that will outsource to American companies and pay a decent line rate? I am amazed at what the companies charge and then want to offer in this business anymore.

2 companies with that name. Was this the NJ job? nm

I have been through a lot of companies and
they are all the same.  I just found that out not too long ago.  I am with a company now that everyone cheers about.  They are just the same as everyone else.  Nothing to cheer about IMO.  This business has gone downhill fast.  Sad.
What companies, if any,
. . .

. . . hire and actually promote professionals who have forgotten more than many MTs know, have years and years of experience, work when needed, don't rock the boat, and produce excellent work?  At my company, the editors and managers usually have just a few years of experience as an MT, if any, and many have no management experience.  Some managers have never even seen a typed document.  That doesn't make sense.  What companies give one a chance to actually grow with them?  Any of them?  How do the promotions go to those who took an on-line class and have been an MT for 2 years?  Kudos to anyone who could answer this . . . Bewildered

He said that some companies do that, but
usually when they do there is a reason for it, so told me to keep an eye out for future class action lawsuits or that sometimes they use it as a means to withhold severance pay, etc.  IMO - basically it's a CYA letter.  Atty agreed.  But again, IMO, why be worried about a CYA letter if you have nothing to CYA for?  Any company that wants ex-employees to sign a release from future lawsuits is definitely not up for nomination for Employer of the Year, that's for sure and just one more bit of proof that it isn't the MLSs at fault.   I'm not concerned about it, but I'm sure as heck not signing it either.  I just think it's hilarious that a few Transcend groupies come out of the woodwork ready to blame the MLSs that left as if they weren't the GOOD transcriptionists and that's why they left.  Seems to me if they weren't any good they wouldn't be able to get hired anywhere and so would want to stay put where they know they have a sure thing.
Some Companies...
Charge you per report for their useless template. What a rip off...
QA Companies
Anyone who works as a QA; I am curious as to what you think of the company you work for?  Good or bad.  Looking for a new QA position and would like some information on the companies.  Thanks.
Here are some companies
First Choice Medical
QT Medical
JLG - some accounts still on WP.
TeleType

That is all I know of right now.

Good luck.
Some Companies Pay Less
Some companies, especially small ones, lure you in by starting you at less and tell you that once you're off probation in a couple of weeks your line rate will be raised a couple of cents.  Months later, despite quality work and that pitch-in attitude during backlog periods, you're still making 6 cents a line.  A lot of good begging does....What a joke these companies are...........
Any companies out there?

with:

1.  ENT, cardiology, family practice or internal medicine work.

2.  Require a minimum line count of 500 lines a day with the option to do more.

3.  Word based with a 24-hour TAT and have direct deposit with assigned docs/accounts?

Are there any companies out there using DQS except MQ? (sm)
If I were going to try to work 2 companies at the same time until I could decide I thought it would be easier if they used the same program.  This old dog is getting too old to learn too many new tricks at once.
That would be companies. If you
want to make it in this biz, you have to learn to spell!
Are any companies besides MQ using VR right
x
Not sure of any companies (sm)
I've worked on it for hospitals.  I am not aware of any MTSO's that use it.
companies
Diskriter has some ChartScript accounts.  A lot of hospitals use ChartScript also.  I used it with my in-house job.  Very productive platform.
