I've been convinced. Resume going out today.

At the very least, they'll know I'm interested, and since there would be so little training involved, I would be able to take off running. I used to do 100-150 minutes per day and their requirement was only for 90, so, I doubt I'd have much of a problem. The downside to that is that there are no incentives above the 90 minutes. It's straight hourly pay.

The best part of it is that it is an at-home job after the training. DH says if I have to start 2nd shift, do it. I don't know if I could. I hated 3-11 shift when I first started there because I couldn't keep my eyes open after the witching hour of 8 p.m., plus I would still have to get up at 3:30 a.m. because DH leaves for work at 4:30 a.m. (when he has work) and doesn't get home until 5:30-6:30 p.m. My window of time with him is really only 2 hours a day.

We shall see what happens. Thanks for your input.

I e-mailed with resume yesterday and am testing today.
She gave me 2 company names I had not seen on the boards, both have better terms than I am making now or had found on my own.
Submitted resume 9/28 late at night. Received email today. nm

I've seen your resume...
Truth be told, most recruiters have probably worked with you in some form or fashion at these companies, and know your reputation. When your name comes up on the job board, they think "no way" unless they are being pushed hard to hire anyone and everyone.

Believe me, one thing that makes a recruiter cringe is someone who has had 20 jobs in 10 years, or even 10 jobs in 10 years. If you've only been able to last for a matter of months at a number of companies, any recruiter is going to assume that the problem is you, not the company you were with, and will think very hard before hiring you. Remember, transcription is a very small world, and it's one place where it's possible that everyone who matters knows your name.
I've seen your resume. sm
How could you possibly know who the person posting this original message is?
I've sent my resume and have left it be.
Seems fine with everyone I have sent it to for review.  Hope this helps.
I've sent my resume and gotten no response at all. nm

Don't count on it - I've sent them a resume 2 different times
and have 10 years experience and have never heard a word from them.
Here's what I've been doing: for example, today...(sm)
I had a patient with 2 cysts, in the OR for fine needle aspiration. The dictator very clearly said, "the 2 needles were aspirated."  So, I put what he said, and made a note in QA, but did NOT leave a marker in the report. That way, it goes right to the client WITH the note, but doesn't stop at QA.  That covers my butt, and helps the client.
I've been checking mine today
They seem pretty accurate, same as for the past +1 year.
Thanks for that. I feel a little better. I've had offers from three co's today sm
so maybe it is all for the best. What we want isn't always what's best for us.
I've been out of work 2 times today
7 a.m for 1-1/2 hours, and now. I don't count the 1 or 2 reports that slip in. I've worked exactly 3-3/4 hours today in my 8 hour shift.
I've had a steady trickle today. nm

I've had 2 jobs in 4 hours today - getting frustrated. nm

Or his MTs have him convinced of its supposed inadequacy
Because he could cut his MT staff in half by going to VR and they know this ;-)

If he's seen VR reports and doesn't trust it based on this, he's obviously been looking at reports that were either NOT edited or edited by some slacker who didn't catch the errors and sent it on through.

To the signing clinician, there should be NO visible difference between a VR edited report and a report generated from straight transcription. Should be the same end result either way it's produced.

Some of these stories/excuses to avoid VR just don't hold up to factual examination.

Posters: I am not convinced this is a Webmedx rep.
Please be careful what posts you believe as truth in identity here.

I am convinced, VR is only good for those who can't type fast sm
I am a very fast and accurate typist and I was making $30 an hour. This VR was not even half the pay. Ridiculous!
Not convinced that anyone is happy making peanuts when they made $70,000 sm
no matter what year...........if you made $70,000 typing and now you do VR... keep telling yourself you are happy now making peanuts.
How long does it take TransHealth to get back to someone when you send a resume? I sent a resume

Has anyone gotten a job from any company not posting regularly from their resume in the resume
s
What good does it do? They've lied, they've betrayed us.

They've taken all they are going to take from me.   I am not going to waste any more time being angry.   I hate the way things ended, but I refuse to accept the blame for any part of it because I know that was a lie too, even though they did try to blame the MTs.  I know part of the problem was quality issues, but QA wasn't to blame for that either, although they have been.

It is time to pick up and move on.   I think mgmt will reap what they sow.   For those who worked on the main account Webmedx is still hiring, though the best time slots have already been taken.

What the heck? I've never heard that in the 8 yrs I've worked here. sm
Go back to your STM or over his or her head.
Since you've brought it up, I've stopped SM

giving the negative info because every time I have in the past I am called a disgruntled ex-employee or told that my experience has no relation to what the company is like today.

I won't repeat the information I've given in the past, anyone can find it on searches.  I've decided to just let the people have their experience with the company and that experience will validate everything I've ever said about those people.

The same people own and run that company--they may have new names doing the management, but it still runs the same way.

You've got it ~ you've hit the nail on the head....

I can Google until dawn and still not find John Smith in NY - you know the neurologist...  Cut me a break!  I've now learned to ask my online company for a list of referring physicians (since none of the accounts are in my state) and also ask for websites for the hospitals, but I still don't take more than 5 min of my own time to find referring physicians.  I send it right through with a verify cc:...

As far as making an educated guess, I would only do that if it was my own account and I know the dictator well.  For the online company, it is their responsibility to make that educated guess as it is their client, not mine.  I leave that up to the company to make assumptions; this way it is on their back, not mine when it comes to the legality of the report.  Ultimately, the physician is responsible when signing that report or there should be clause on those reports that state dictated but not read.  If that clause is not there, then it is the physician's responsibility to know the content, not the MT.  An MT can only transcribe what they hear and really should not be making educated guesses on anyone since we live in a world of sue-happy patients and their malpractice insurance is so high.  If there is a question, it needs to go the dictator to resolve.

JMO - been doing this for over 20 years.

I've been a QA 15 years and I've never heard
of any company only paying for the actual Keystrokes of the blank. You would literally make less than minimum wage that way. Waaay less.
No but I sent them a resume - sm
They never responded to it.  I have a ton of experience, too.  Doesn't bode well for them to me.
sent resume
I sent a resume to MDtalknet and am waiting for a response, I even live in the same town, not that that really makes a difference.
Sent my resume in...sm

2 weeks ago and have not received an e-mail regarding testing.  I have 25+ years of experience, mainly acute care, 6 in radiology.  Wonder if they wanted more radiology experience.

Are you sure they got your resume? I know that they are
hiring for ortho right now. I have been there 3 years and the account I am on is expanding and I know of at least two new accounts.

If you did not hear, I would either call or re-email.
Resume
Ok, thanks, I see it now.  Thank you!
Yes, I sent a resume - sm
I think I asked for more money than they pay because they thanked me for the resume and said maybe sometime in the future they would keep me in mind.  In other words, never.
Resume
Go Gal!  You reflect the sentiments of those of us who would not dare, but love to include your comments on our resume's.  Don't we all just love doing the header research for free!  Sigh, Is there light at the end of the tunnel?  God Love Ya!
I sent a resume
I sent a resume thru MTStars about 1-1/2 weeks ago, have 25 years experience doing all reports and have not heard a word from them.
Put your resume up
Put your resume up and say you are looking for minimal part time work. Good luck!
resume
I just leave it as is pasted in. susan
Thanks, I sent the resume but have not sm
heard anything yet. Keeping my fingers crossed!
I'd get my resume in
to the small hospital quickly before somebody else does. I wouldn't say anything to your current hospital and if you have to give them a decision, say you will take the radiology job. Could be weeks or months before that other hospital has an opening.

If the outsourcing goes badly, radiology won't change over for a long time (hope, hope).

Radiology is all about anatomy and contrast. The bet book IMO is HPI's Radiology Imaging Words and Phrases, but you'll also use a lot of your Stedman's books like ortho, neuro, GI, Ob-Gyn, cardio, and even lab books.
I sent in a resume,

Ok, I sent in my resume
And already heard back from a recruiter! I am excited now! So, they only hire for ICs I'm taking it. That means I am responsible for paying my own taxes, correct?
resume
Just a couple of questions about your resume. Do you put on it how much you are getting paid at your current job or at your past jobs? Do you put the current volume of work you are doing at your primary job? I have had some experience with hiring for a small company in the past and if I see someone put what rates they were getting paid at other companies I generally would discard the resume because it feels like a challenge to match or exceed those rates. If I saw that someone was a high producer but looking for a second job I would doubt that they would have much time for the second job and discard the resume.

Other flags to me were changing jobs often, big gaps in employment, or lack of specific experience for the specific position.

If none of those apply to you, I'd just agree with the other posters that business is just generally slow right now and it's not personal.
Same here. I sent them resume. They were
nm
Thanks..I just sent them my resume...sm
Do you happen to know why they have a banner on the career page that says Military Spouses Welcome? I was just wondering.
I sent them my resume
I sent them my resume and have yet to hear back. Advanced sounds like a great company to work for. It's just I've applied several times in the past and I never do hear anything.
resume
Had and still having the same problem since beginning of 2008 when I, too, sent out resumes. Am STILL having effects of that, had changed from one email acct to another in an effort to get away from it. Still get 150-200 emails a day and apparently am on every nigerian computer in existence. Unbelievable. Also, every school that teaches transcription (after 30+ years! of transcription) and from there it has gone everywhere. Cannot honestly say Opti-script did it, but I did apply with them. Some companies would not deal with me because they required SS # and I absolutely refuse to put some things on line, not credit card or banking (thank God) because last week I had total infiltration despite all my antivirus and spy bot and fire wall that has cost me $300 to have taken care of. Just sloppy for this to happen. Only med Transcriptionist have to be perfect, everything else is half-a$$ and seems to be acceptable. What a world.
Resume/Contacts
I posted mine in May of 2005 and am still getting calls, even got one today...
Sent a note, resume, etc.
Just waiting to hear something from them. I heard they are good, too.
Try posting your resume
I was contacted through this site.  I too like OP reports.  I was contacted by a small company to transcribe for a surgery center.  Mon thru Fri, no weekends, same account every day.  It was a dream come true!!
I don't want to send them a resume either
At one time, some companies put out ads by recruiter and anonymous names just to see who would apply.  Those who applied and were working for this big company were immediately fired just for applying.  Watch your back!
Did not send resume, but.....sm
I did write a very polite email stating that I was not comfortable revealing my personal information to an unknown company. I included my basic credentials and asked if they wanted my resume to please email me regarding their company information.  I doubt if they'll bother, but I've made it a policy to never submit my confidential information to any company who is not willing to reveal their name.
a resume would still be more reliable
moron
I actually submitted my resume - sm
And heard back within 10 minutes via telephone. With 1 little one not in school yet, flexibility is the most important thing to me right now. I think they sound great!
