at Medquist. I've checked out other companies but I liked MQ the best (I kept working at MQ while testing other companies).

Just getting a bit antsy but maybe it was more of a politics thing and will not have any affect on all at the transcription level. I know everyone has different opinions but I will say that personally they have been very good to work for, cut me lots of slack as long as I turn some quality lines, my pay is more than competitive, work on a very good account, and only ran out of lines for about 2 days over the Christmas holiday. It is a very good fit for me and I was a little worried about what started those ripples and how far the ripples would go!
What people seem to misunderstand is that a recruiter is not the HR department. They are the sm
recruiter. HR director or department head deals with the rules of human resources, benefits, numbers, etc. Recruiter is the KEY person, the one people-oriented individual, the one who talks and gets to know the prospective employee, the one who tests and usually the one who checks the references. That person hires the people. It is the job of the recruiter in any company to hire the individual and THEN to forward paperwork to the department that needs the MT. Now, as a recruiter, I follow through within three (3) days' time to see that all the necessary contact with that individual and department has been made and if it has not been made, I put the crunch to that department head to step on it. We are dealing with people who need a job and have quit their job supposedly to work for us. No one can afford a lapse in employment unless they want a week off in between, which sometimes they do.

Too many people seem to think HR is the recruiter, but in a company with a true chain of command, that usually is not the case.

I don't know how this company operates in that area, but most of the companies I know that are in growth put an HR dept in place, have a director, and 1 or 2 recruiters. The recruiters hire. The individual departments are responsible for getting those people up and running BUT because I know how important it is to get people started and started on time and because sometimes I feel that no one can do the job as well as me (sadly), I have to follow up to make sure those people are not forgotten.

This is worrisome to me that I feel this way, but unfortunately I have come across companies that have let this happen and I do put a fire underneath the departments and it is successful.

like to refer KS to others as I am so happy there. I was not aware that using the title was misrepresentation. It really does not matter. I am not going to waste any more time here. It gets very time-consuming and I am tired of feeling attacked if I post anything at all.

"In the know" does not know how to spell let alone know anything about the lies Jennifer told week after week.
How can they assure you it's not being done when..
they posted a letter on the website to the employees admitting to it because it was requested by a client vs losing the account totally??  I know I am not the first one that has brought this up...inflammatory comments or not they put the info out there in black and white and tons of people saw it.

The gourd is not the same as scribbles.  I am a patient, respectful and hopefully sometimes helpful individual.  One thing I am not is rude and hateful.  I expect I know where scribbles comes from and she definitely doesn't support me in anything.  LOL
Not too many people are happy
i could be wrong but I think a lot of people are not too happy with this change.
At least they seem to be happy with their jobs, which is more than i can say for most of the people

Not enough work, too much work, bad line counter and now ESLs? Are you lazy or what? You get off a gravy train account and have to do some REAL work and have the nerve to come here and complain? COME ON NOW. YOU ARE AN MT, ALL MTs DO ESLs! GET OVER IT.

I too sent in a resume a couple weeks ago and did a search and saw mostly very positive posts. I did that related posts thing that the other poster describes and it worked really well.

I figured they are probably swamped with applications if the number of people I have seen post that they really want to work there is correct. :)
I work for this company, I can assure you..
they don't pay 8 cpl. This position in particular is an hourly position. If I could live closer I would apply, but I can't, this is in Maryland, I live in PA.

As far as you never leaving a blank, wow, I have never met an MT that never left a blank.

Also, I could not find in the job description that they paid 8 cpl. Where did you even get that? I can also assure you I make much more than 8 cpl as an MT for them.

This company is by far the BEST I have ever worked for. I am so happy there!!! I would never, ever go back to an MTSO for 8 cpl.

I urge anyone who would be interested to check out that job, I can promise you that you will make a great salary, great benefits and work with a great group of transcriptionists.

I actually know a couple of the people who regularly post positively on this board about Transcend. I email with them quite regularly. They aren't management. There's one theory down the drain.

And, no, I'm not management trying to create a story, either, although you probably suspect that I am.

Try to accept that people can be happy and supportive of their employer. It's better to be part of the solution than part of the problem.

Their platform is fully over internet. It has a few bugs, but they are working these out all the time. These are just plain nice people running that place. I really have enjoyed them and am so happy to have shed the stress of the uncertainty with MedQuist. Proscript does not offshore, either.

The big thing I like about Proscript is that they all work together pleasantly. With MQ, we are left out there alone without the tools to do a good job. With Proscript I actually feel I am part of an organization that is genuinely dedicated to doing a good job - and provides the tools and the feedback to do that. I like the QA people, too. They provide good feedback done in a diplomatic way - and they know we are all just human, which helps.
Yikes? I know it might be hard to believe, but there are people who are happy with MQ.
I just happen to be one of many. No weekends, time 1/2 for holidays if I work, 10c per line, fast platform, and every day I learn something new. Have gotten offers from Transtech, MDI-MD, Hypertype and Webmedx, but I'm still with MQ. I'm not stupid, far from it, I just KNOW that they are all the same. MQ happens to be the biggest and some people just can't handle that. They will bounch back, just wait....

exactly....all of the people that I know that work for Keystrokes are happy and love their job...
move on if it is not the right fit for you...there are plenty of other companies out there...

other companies?  I'm happy for people who are happy with their jobs, no matter what company they work for. 
I am not her spokesperson just happy with the company I work for and upset that people can be so sm

misleading because the fit was not good for them. 

If you have been on these boards a while, you would know that she always posts her name.  I emailed her today to tell her what was happening on here, and the response I got back was she does not even look on here as it is too upsetting and has promised herself not to come and look.  She has too much else to do with her time and defending herself and her company is always misinterpreted.  She basically told me I should spend more time working or with my family than spending time on this soap opera.

It is better to not care and let people form their own opinions.  Everyone takes the postings with a grain of salt anyway.  I think it is sad that she has to be so tough-skinned.

I can't say enough nice things about this company; very flexible, you area a statutory employee. That means that they pay the employer portion of your SS. Great on time pay, tons of work. Do your lines and you are left alone! Expect to be responsible though. Pay for your phone; rent a Lanier or a C-phone if you don't have one; BayScribe platform. Anything that is a bit of an inconvenience is more than made up for. You will know to the minute how much you will make and how many lines you have typed. Check it out!

People at TT have been paid! People who haven't well, maybe you did not make count and your check
after insurance deduction. Maybe your bank is holding it. Maybe anything! But we GOT PAID. This is NO LIE. And I am sick of this board. Nothing but disgruntled exemployees arguing with employees who like their job. Ugggg. I am working. BTW: THERE IS WORK (clears throat) remember that? Work?

I worked for SS and some people were very RUDE and I am talking about the editing people in some
instances.  It ALL depends on the person, as it does with any company.  They paid on time and the lady over me was very nice, but boy the person in QA was mean to EVERYONE!!  Never seen anything like it before.
Are people trying to scare people or just tell them what is happening. I am not scared just seeing
that things are changing very rapidly and not for the better for me. If I have no work and need multiple accounts everyone else is in the same boat now arent they that have my accounts. That is how people know what is going on.
Maybe due to the people that manage Amherst. I think MQ would be a lot better off finding new people
up there with all the problems you hear about that office. Seems like something is very very wrong there.

to these companies (few, if any, are 100% honest, it seems), are going to be honest and tell you anything that isn't rosy and sugar-coated. Having a good prospective MT walk because the company isn't so great means less green dollars in their bank account every month. They're not going to tell us anything that DOESN'T make them more money.
More people will come into VR because the qualifcations to do MT are not the same. Lots of people w
to work at home. It's all relative to what you are used to. The nationals are counting on this. I think MTs will work cheaper rather than reenter the work force with no other skills than MT. The nationals are counting on this.

need to keep from naming names.  I thought it was an informative bit of information, but when you name names, then posts are way out of line. 

I would really like to see a truly professional way of talking about a company.  I don't care what board you go to, somehow people just do not want to play nice when it comes to talking about people.  If those people could learn to be a little more professional and stop posting names to their wrath or anger, then that will be the day I can say I am proud to be in this profession.  When I see those types of things, it makes my skin crawl.  If it were me being talked about, I would be livid.  I certainly understand why the posts were deleted.

Honestly, people some people are lazy...

In fact, no longer work for Spheris, but only because working 20 hours PT in addition to my FT job became too much. I cannot compare it to other nationals as I haven't worked for any others, but it was a good experience for me in many ways; good accounts, good supervisor, pay always on time.

Not every company is going to be a good fit for everyone.

I had one recruiter say to me, because I worked for a big national: "You must not be a very good Transcriptionist if you're working for them!" I said "EXCUSE ME! I have almost 30 years experience and have outstanding quality and can back that up." I told her straight out that her comment really offended me. Needless to say, that turned me completely off on that company and I did not pursue employment there. Too bad. They missed out on a great transcriptionist. Their loss.

I was hired a few weeks ago and the recruiter said that they pay headers, footers and spaces. I don't know if it counting them or not. The platform is terrible and the sound quality is even worse.

I would like to tell you that I look for blanks on tests. I do not count that against an applicant, nor should anybody else. It is always better to blank a word than to guess at it. A blank says I don't know for sure and do not want to guess. It basically lets a recruiter know that you know when to ask for help.
OR their new recruiter. LOL!!!
