MD-IT has the nicest and most helpful management and staff...sm

that I have ever had the privilege of working for and I've been in this business over 17 years! The company has several divisions, but I'm not sure exactly. I believe there are 2 in Oregon, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Louisville, KY, Florida as well as a few more scattered here in the states. They absolutely do not offshore. My MT supervisor works nonstop to keep us busy. They are also very flexible, do offer employee status, but the insurance is very high (but whose isn't)? The staff knows you by your name and not by a number. I could go on and on. Feel free to email me if I can answer anymore questions. Good luck to you!

The staff and the attitudes of the staff. Very helpful, cheerful. (sm)
They seem to work extremely hard to balance everything out, enough work, enough MTs and always making sure they let the MTs know they are a valuable asset to the company. That means a lot. Not to mention the bennies are pretty good, too.
The staff are some of the nicest ppl I've ever worked with! sm
I worked for them a little over year ago. I'm pretty sure they paid for spaces. The only problem I had was trying to get a decent line count on the particular platform they had me on. As I mentioned above, the entire staff are super friendly, helpful, and made my experience there very positive. Good luck!
I work for them and find their QA staff to be quite helpful.
They are some of the most knowledgeable that I have run across but would never call them rude.  They are very nice.
While it is true that the management and staff
are nice, it is also true that there have been some problems with the work flow.
Since my last QA score was 99.69%, that's a non-issue. Hopefully, things will stabilize in time, although overhiring might be a factor.
That's absurd. TransTech has nicest QA sm
people I have dealt with, ever. Never ignorant to me and always, always very professional.
Y'know, I just admire you so much. You are probably THE nicest MT
that I have ever had the pleasure of conversing with on any board.  I wish you were nearby and we could meet for a cup of coffee.  I'll bet you're one fantastic friend!  I'm not throwing in the towel just yet.  I'm just thinking that it's time I start looking at my options so that if this continues, I have a plan B.  Hopefully, tomorrow will be a new day and there will be more work, and some explanations or at least addressing of the issues by D.  Somebody had to have told C or D about these posts by now, if they haven't read them themselves, so if they are NOT outsourcing, I would think they would certainly want to put that fear to rest at the very least.  I've always had nought but good to say about MDI, and I am more than willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, but as so many people have stated, the silence is very troubling.  I'm still hoping for the best.  Like Scarlett O'Hara said, Tomorrow is another day.
Old posts say you must use their computer, the pay is low, and the people are not the nicest. nm

You have GOT to be kidding. She was one of the nicest persons I ever spoke with regarding MT.
She is very upfront and open, and was even willing to discuss pay rate pretty much from the beginning, so I wouldn't waste time if the rate they could pay wasn't enough. I thought she was great.
That is the nicest thing I've seen on this board!
kk, you are one sweet person to offer a newbie a start like that! If you believe in karma, this good deed should come back to you two- or three-fold. Good luck to you both!!!
I just adore Harrie. She is the nicest, most patient woman. Her site is the
xx
Keystrokes is wonderful!! They are the nicest people and care 150% about their people!!
Excellent company!!!!
Pay is only so so, but the staff was very
rude, software was okay, they did pay ontime. Only thing was, when you ask how you are doing, they will say great and then let you go with no word as to why. Very awful company!!
I am NOT staff. I am an MT. nm
nm
Pay was okay, staff was extremely
rude, they will fire you for anything and you cannot trust them at all!! Worst company out there IMO
the staff there is very nice and
very understanding. you should not hesitate to communicate with them while you are unable to keep your schedule and tell them why. don't wait until after the fact because they have no clue what is going on. you have a wonderful way to communicate with Future Net
Amdin Staff and MTs are not the same
And even though you surely went through a very hard time with your family and my heart goes out to you. You were not one of DeVille's managers. You were a new employee typing from home. I am sure his relationship with his managers and his MTs are on two different levels.
I like TT because the staff is nice, sm
they leave you alone to get your work done and are supportive and understanding.
I think the non-MT staff puts in a lot of
hours to get new accounts up and running, training new people, and ironing out the details.

I think start-up time is probably triple the work for them, so yeah, I think they should get paid for all the prep work they do so that the work can actually be transcribed.

Office Staff TT
I think they are more aware than ever with the new accts. that more office and management staff is needed. Lately they've promoted a couple from within the company to act as lead transcriptionists to take some of the burden off of the acct. manager and others in the supervisory position to give them more time to answer other questions. There is Eyvonne, who I think is the actual supervisor and Diana, Donna, Nancy and another one I do not know the name of that are doing jobs that once only one person was doing. I think it's super they did this. It helps out a lot having someone always there to ask questions if you need an answer. Eyvonne is always responsive and Donna and Diana are simply fabulous. They are so kind and try to answer your questions quick. The other night I had a question and emailed the lead MT address and even though Donna did not know the answer, her answer was I don't know but I'll find out for you and she DID. How many times do you hear of someone saying that and really doing it? Not often. They needed to do this a long time ago. I've only been with TT for almost a year but I really like it here and they seem to really be conscious that we are what makes this company work. Agree with you too, I love all the work recently.
Can QA staff at precyse use their own PC
or are QA folks required to use Precyse's PC? Again, this is related to QA only...not MTs.
You are kidding - right? At 2 cpl he treats his staff well!!! nm
x
The staff is so rude that they got banned
from this site for being extremely rude to an ex employee
yes, about five yr ago, not a good exp, very rude staff...nm

RIGHT OR WRONG, if I like a supervisor or the staff

Personality of the person I am dealing with means a lot to me.  I think it keeps me longer in a job that is not right and if the people are jerks but the work is good, I just can't stay in the job.  PERSONALITY IS SO MUCH IN LIFE......MTSO managers, heads up, stop with the phony baloney niceness and be a real human and for the ones who are snippy and have a superior attitude..... you  just lost some good workers for your bosses.

LOL! And I bet your *wonder* QA staff are dying to get off your team!
Funny, I was a QA manager too, and you probably took the crappy job I got rid of. LOLOLOL! I'm on a high horse? ha. That's funny...!
Does your QA staff do 500 lines plus an hour? Ask your
attorney what the law is to paying less than minimum wage. Just curious as to what he has to say
message for Keystroke staff
How long did it take from the time you sent in your resume, answered all questions, and took the test to be notified if you were accepted (or not)?
Yes, staff coming and going and no info given to the MTs (sm)
about who does what, etc. Right now I have no idea who my supervisor is, as far as I can tell there isn't one. My MO at present is to keep as low a profile as possible! All of the staff that cared about having communication with the MTs seem to be long gone.
Thanks - Very Helpful
I would not be paying any of the MTs at an editor’s rate I would continue to pay at their existing MT rate. I did send out a communication to the team to ask for feedback and did not even think of mentioning that there would be no reduction in pay rate. I have probably scared a few people.
Thank you! Very, very helpful. :) NM

A helpful way to think about it
I had asked this question awhile back when considering a job offer and they said something like 1 minute = 10 lines

Basically, if you get paid .09 cents per line, that would translate to 0.90 cents per minute of dictation.

I get paid $1.10 per dictated minute which is about equivalent to 11 cpl.

Hope that helps!
Not sure how helpful I can be (sm)
but in my short time with MDI I've found that weekend work is typically plentiful and more often than not, at least on my primary, they are asking for extra help on weekends.

I have a primary and a secondary, both on the internet platform. If my primary is low, I switch to my secondary for a little while. I have had no problems meeting my weekday lines between my primary and secondary accounts.

I would encourage you to talk with your laision about your concerns and enquire about a secondary account.

From what I've seen, the company works very hard to make sure everything stays within TAT.

For me, I was fed up with my previous employer's rigid schedule and opted for something a little more relaxed. I am much, much happier and more relaxed, and actually look forward to working now.
Thank you both - most helpful!

Actually this is very helpful ...
Thanks so much for responding.
ANYONE helpful at OSi?

Hey-I'm the one who asked earlier for some opinions on the management thing that had come open there.  Thanks for your input, y'all.  I'm sorry I'm staying anonymous--as long as I'm still stuck there, I need to.

Here's my latest question:  Is there ANY higher-up there who is helpful?!   Identifying employees not allowed.  Posters can email you through the links below.

There are a couple of people there who have it in for me.  I'm a XXXX good transcriptionist--I catch all the errors the dictators make, and don't even get me started on how grammatically awful and also unprofessional my team leader is (which is why I don't speak to my team leader about my problems).  Ever since I caught her out in a lie and also mentioned a couple flaws in the system, it has become very clear that, despite the fact that I'm one of the best they've got, they'd love to have a reason to get rid of me.

This is unfair (duh).  Is there ANYONE nice there?!

Thank you very much.

helpful at OSi
They do not have someone for the position - I dont think people have it in for anyone here, otherwise some people in power would not be there (anyone who works there knows of whom I speak)-good communication both ways is the key!
Thank you! You have all been very helpful! (nm)
nm
This was very helpful! thanks! (nm)
nm
could you be less helpful??!!
I checked the archives and there wasn't much. Just saying RUN doesn't tell us anything.

Did you actually work for them or did you simply have a bad recruiting experience? Were the people difficult to work with? Was the platform difficult? Did they cheat on line count or not send paychecks on time? Too many ESLs? Not the type of work you wanted to do? Some real details would help.

As I said in a previous post - things that one person hates, others might like - so unless you actually want to give some details, why even waste your time answering, its a waste of my time to even check your post.
not helpful
I have talked to them in person. I thought maybe they could hook me up with a specialty like phychiatry or Orthopedics. She was very discouraging...said her clients are looking for the basic 4, hospital work, which I would rather not do but CAN. Luckily, I found a good company on my own that lets me specialize if I want so I am happy now.
It would be helpful if you said just

how long ago you worked there.  Sometimes a company can get its act together and it would be a shame if they had improved but are still getting a bad rap.  I think that is why the archives are sometimes not so helpful.

Sometimes you just gotta try 'em out.  There are no guarantees.

Not sure if this is helpful or not
And unfortunately I'm going to be very vague on specifics, but there are a couple of services out there who actually lease out extra space on their dictation servers for small companies. IOW, you could find clients, and then they would dial into the Company X's servers with their dictation, where you could then access it to transcribe it and send the reports to the physicians via internet.

I'm sorry but right now I cannot remember the specific company's name. They had an ad up within the last month or so looking for transcriptionists, and while investigating that I saw that they also had the above arrangement set up. If my feeble brain coughs up the information or I come across it, I'll gladly post it for you.
I worked for them also and the greatest office staff. .. nm
x
It was stated the leak came from office staff.

There was also the issue of an MT getting a QA file that wasn't hers, the lended more fuel to the fire.    I know a few more things that I can't say without pointing the finger at myself that also has me concerned.

I guess until someone gets up the nerve to ask the MTSO we'll never know.

I know the entire staff there and they are all wonderful. If what you say happened sm
there is more to the story. I know you don't just get locked out of work for a medical emergency. The person in charge there would not do that. She is one of the nicest people around so it is my guess there is another side to the story.

To anyone thinking about working for TH, they are a wonderful company. If you want a fair company that has a good QA staff and nice supervisors, pays on time with their direct deposit, has good benefits, you certainly could not go wrong trying them.
Jennifer, you are not alone. I worked as a staff employee when they
were Healthscribe, and I can tell you this - and I will swear to it in a court of law and on a Bible - and can show the proof should it ever come to that - they alter the lines. So say for instance, you get a 14 minute H&P and it comes out to let's say three pages. Whereas, a normal line count might be - just for the sake of argument let's say 100 lines to make it easy - Healthscribe/Spheris would credit the Transcriptionist about 90 lines. If a transcriptionist sent a report to QA, after so many reports, QA would start to dock lines from the transcriptionist.

The accounts were very, very difficult. I worked in the relations aspect of the company, if the client had any complaints or problems, I dealt with them. The accounts were basically the hospitals that no one even wanted to work in - inner city hospitals with lots of foreigners dictating.

I had to deal with the offshoring accounts and transcriptionists in the US that had to retype or edit - however you wish to put it - very very frustrating - won't even delve into it.

Jennifer, I realize that you are new in this field, but there has got to be a better place for you to learn and get your feet wet. Have you tried your local hospital or clinic in your area? Try a small company instead of a national. Smaller companies might have more of a mentoring side to their company, nicer accounts, easier to deal with. I hope this helps. Good luck
When I applied in August, he said they use only in-house staff. nm
s
I think they need to disclose on their website that they have a 100% Indian MT staff. sm
Don't you? I don't think they should false advertise to make people think they are this all-American company. Pure crap.
eScription maintains staff of their own to help customers..
They support go lives, backlog, etc. - they are employees of eSCription, not of a service, you would probably have work many accounts, but it's an option
My MTSO only gives bonus to office staff. MTs do

I'm grateful for MT Stars but wonder if staff or mgmnt
