Unbelievable! I work for Transtech and got PAID maternity leave! Some of these
companies need to take a lesson from them.
So when you say paid for downtime...

do you mean that they actually pay you if no work available, not just for equipment failure on their part?

If compensated for times of no work on your schedule (at what rate?  minumum wage or other?), some of the folks on the MQ Board need to hear this, I think.

Yes, I get paid DOWNTIME when

there is no work around and I also get PTO, paid VISION, very good health insurance with company paying 80%, dental for less than 15 per pay period and a great atmosphere.  Yes, I do have to produce 12000 per pay period.

Paid for downtime...
Paid for downtime with Transcend? We don't. We get told to flex out time out.
Do you guys get paid for downtime?

That's one thing about MQ I'm thankful for.  At least we get paid for our downtime.  I don't know if we'll get paid for the jobs we've lost, though.  Some say yes, some say no.  I guess it's up to the PS.

Check out the MQ board - there's a link to check the status of DQS on their site.  The link takes you directly to MQ's DQS, but I would think they offer it for all clients they serve.

Last I checked at 7:30 am EST, it was still down for MQ.  Some MQ MTs are getting work, but I wouldn't until it at least gives you the yellow light (see site).

It's like a snow day - you're glad to be off unexpectedly, but you know you'll have to make it up!

In our dreams we would get paid for downtime
Kind of like the office staff is still getting paid while the ones producing their income don't.
Oh, yea -- PAID, too. Grandmother PAID LEAVE would be a great drawing card to TT !!

Just love that PAID TIME OFF !!

Last I knew Transolutions paid downtime. sm
It may have changed by now.
Employee. 0.09 cpl, 100s of normals, and downtime paid.

Different view: If we all went to hourly pay to make sure that we are paid during downtime, it wou
what we earn on production. I make upwards of $30 an hour on production. Most hospitals are under $20 an hour. I think we would lose money if hourly and if they pay us for downtime, I am sure that the money would have to come from somewhere, so they would lower rates.

Forget Diskriter! Bunch of smoke! You will NOT get paid for downtime.

Diskriter made MQ look kind.  Diskriter also has had labor board charges in the past. If it sounds too good to be true, I assure you with Diskriter, it is!  This is the first time I've spoken out against them, but honestly the down time paid claim is bogus.

Paid maternity leave?

I was wondering if anybody knows of any companies that offer paid maternity leave.

TIA

The only way I know to get paid maternity leave is if you have
your sick time/vacation time built up. You can take off with the Family Leave Act (or whatever it is called) but I don't know of any that actually pay you for maternity leave.
Paid maternity leave?
Do any companies still offer paid maternity leave (6 weeks)? Medware used to but doesn't anymore. Do any still offer this or just hospitals?
Who gets paid holidays & maternity leave? I'm an IC nm
x
Not true. I believe TransTech either offers paid maternity leave or is about to.
s
Old posts had people not getting paid money due them when they decided to leave. nm
s
Paid maternity leave at TransTech? Is that for real? Any details
would be appreciated.  TIA
TT has paid maternity leave? Sounds too good to be true..
Just wondering if anyone has used this paid maternity benefit?  Is there a catch? This is such a rare benefit now days it just seems too good to be true.
Plenty of work? Any PTO? Okay bennies? nm
nm
Best companies for radiology (pay, work, bennies)?
Any input appreciated - need to leave the convention center...
Transolutions pays downtime when work runs out. nm

Also depending on hospital, downtime (no work or tech

Great bennies but extremely disorganized and out of work a lot. nm
nm
When you run out of work doyou have to make up lines/hours to keep bennies? (nm)
,
Not sure if you need bennies or not, but QT hires IC and has plenty of work and pays gross line! sm
You can apply at www.qtmedical.com It's a great place to work. Pay is always on time, always correct, recognized for holidays. They pretty much leave you alone and let you work. Very, very rarely run out of work. Depending on experience, pay usually starts around 7 to 8 cpl (gross lines) :)
Great people to work for, but I had to leave due to lack of work. Hopefully that has changed. SM
Most of us who do not live in California had to go IC. When I was there, they did not have statutory status, although they told me they did when they hired me. Their pay for VR is VERY low, not a living wage. Many of the folks in the office are ex-YOG and great to work for/with. Good luck.
Oh they will leave you alone all right, WITHOUT WORK!
Not a very honest bunch of people who do not monitor their work flow, thus first come first serve, thus you might as well throw out their payment scale, as you have to type so much to make so much, and how can anyone do that when there is not enough work!
They leave you alone and let you work....
xx
Well, you can leave work for others while your
I was taught by my parents to worry about me and not what others are doing.  It is none of my business how much work is left for others.  Who cares?  They are not paying my bills, I am.
me too. I work, they leave me alone sm
type what needs to be typed, don't complain and I don't have a problem. It may not work out for some and some may say the pay is too low for 34 years experience (it is) but unfortunately it is what it is.

I decided I loose more money looking for jobs than just settling into one and doing the best I can do. I don't jump through hoops but I help out extra when I can and when I cant, I can't and thats the way it is. They appreciate it and so do I.

I still think, even with the line rates being lower than they were (doing straight MT, no VR) you can make a good living at this but you can't if you don't have the experience! I feel for the newbies but in this business, you have got to do your time so to speak and it takes years. I blame the MT schools out there for the whole go to school for a few months and make a ton of money mind set.
then u should want her to take a leave to get her work
You are so jealous. The girl wants to start a family. It shouldnt matter how long she has been working and where. If she wants to have a baby, then hats off to her.

She will not be having a party as it is not fun sometimes to be pregnant.

If you went out and broke your leg, you can take time off and get paid short-term disability. Why dont you just go do that? You wont have to worry about your production.

Do they leave you alone to work? I personally
would rather be left alone instead of bothered all day with phone calls, etc.
Majority of MTs say just give me the work and leave
x
Dedicated accts, few ESL, leave you alone to work.
x
I don't work there anymore, but I know people who do, and she did not leave. pls r/o
That person has not left the company, and she is still wreaking havoc.  LOL
Had to leave FN due to neverending low work volume. SM
Almost everyone has to work IC if you don't live in California. Liked working there, though.
Or you could just quit and leave more work for the rest of us... Or, I know - you could sm
do your OWN WORK and stop policing everyone else?!
Leave your email and i will contact you about possibly some prn work. nm

Agree. Had to leave. Loved it there but no work and no benefits.
nm
Nice people, easy clinic work, leave you alone, but low pay. nm

Friend has been there for years, only makes 7 cpl, work load very uneven. Looking to leave,

Ever thought of a home health care aide? Usually paid training and start work right away. Can work

You need to leave due to lack of work. Put in your 2-wk notice and move on. Gotta earn a living! nm

You have to work 3 of the big 6 holidays. For those that you work, you are paid
time and a half. For those that you do not work, you can either get paid by using PTO or they are treated like normal days off (for which you are not paid). Sometimes, they will even pay double time for the big holidays if there is a lot of work on the system. I've found them to be exceedingly fair.
Does that mean that you work for MDI-FL and your paid 9.5 there?? Thanks
nm
I did some work for them and NEVER got paid
They are unreasonable, giving their editors 10+ accounts to be in charge of, and they, in turn, give the MTs the work to do.  Therer are so few MTs that they get about 400 minutes to type each day.  They dont pay but like 7 cpl if you're lucky, and they work you to death.  They sonorq (like msn messenger) you to death too, and they just plain out lie about raises, etc.  Like I said, they never paid me even.
Don't work for DIT if you want to get paid!
Two out of three paychecks have bounced so far.  It seems they write checks with no money to cover them.  I hereby take back all the nice things I had said about them being nice people to work for.  Nice people do not bounce paychecks.  Getting paid from them has been the worst experience I've ever had with any employer.  I can't believe they bounce paychecks like they do.  As of today, I'm done.  This is a warning to others, don't let my experience be yours.
paid less for p.r.n. work
I'm feeling confused about why the MT business seems to pay less per line for p.r.n. work than part-time or full-time work.  Out in the world where people do not stay at home, a premium is usually paid to temp services or to employees who agree to be available on a p.r.n. basis.  Is it just my experience with certain companies?  I would like to hear any thoughts on why this is true in this industry or if your experience has been different.  I am beginning to feel dirty for asking for p.r.n. work.
Another day of no work. They must get paid
a lot to sell the Americans short on work.
Were you also not paid for the work you did?
If I'm tracking this thread correctly, that would make you MT #4 that worked but was not paid.

This is alarming, to say the least.
