Thanks! I'm glad to hear that, I didn't think anyone used it anymore! I'm glad to hear so
I'll definitely check them out!
Regarding positive feedback
As company policy, DSG's QA staff never send MTs feedback. All feedback comes from management. There is no such thing as positive feedback. You will get some form of QA information on rare occasions, never a job well done, and often contradictory to previous memos or e-mails or even other direct feedback. The only way to get any response is to pick up the phone, don't rely on e-mails, and call the highest level of management.
Positive feedback???
At DSG you get no direct feedback from the QA people. You only ever get feedback from management. I never once had a good job or any sort of positive feedback. All I ever had was specific information about account specs, and these change with the wind. On some accounts, the spec changes are so often it's hard to keep track of what's going on. Also, the feedback is very rare, or you can be told about something that you have being doing for months that now is wrong.
Just accepted a position with TH...
and then I read the post below. Are all MTs with TH having trouble getting work? Just wondering...
Thank you. I accepted the position. nm

I just accepted a position with WMX to get away sm
from the Q.  I wasn't told about this submission rate thing.  Am I jumping from one fire to the next.  Does anyone know if Transtech has any policy like this.  Maybe I should give them a try.
If you accepted the position -
Why are you coming here to hear negative things about it?   Why not be happy with your position and not anticipate something horrible happening.   Sure, some people will tell you it is great (not likely on this board), but feel confident in your decision and don't worry about it.   Just because someone couldn't handle a position and couldn't make any money, doesn't mean you won't!   Also, get ready to hear about how they outsource.   Tired of that dead horse!   Who cares!   Congrats on your new job - now go do a great job!
Yes, there are quite a few companies with positive feedback.

Since she/he has accepted this position and is happy about it - sm
you should keep your opinion to yourself.
I recently accepted a position
with Zylomed.  This was the second time that I had been contacted by them - the first time I left several messages both through email and by voice mail but never received a response back.  This time I left one message and received a phone call.  They were actually pretty quick about sending my new hire packet, reference material and so forth (through email).  It has been quite troublesome though trying to get a time set up with training.  We did try once but it was determined that my foot pedal wasn't compatible with their platform so I am now waiting on that to arrive in order to set up another time for training.  It's very hard for the ONE person they have that does all the training/hiring of new employees since he is also responsible for setting up all the MTs with the new platform they are switching too.  I just hope it gets better (I'm being optimistic that it will).  I understand how hard it can be out in the real world work force and try to keep that in mind.  Just my two cents worth.
They have called me but I had just accepted another position, but
the caller ID on the phone shows up as Synthescribe and NOT AAmT.
Exactly - that's why I accepted the other position I had been offered.

Accepted an IC Position- Looking for Some Info/Help

Hello! I hope I've got this on the right board (if not, please e-mail and advise me of where it would be better posted). I've just accepted a position as an Independent Contractor, and I would like some input on what this really entails as far as deducting taxes and social security. How do you determine what amount to take out, when/how do you pay those taxes? If I was eligible for a tax refund as an employee, will I be eligible for a tax refund as an IC? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I passed the test and accepted a position
and have been quite happy with Medware.  My old service paid by way of snail mail, so now having direct deposit has been a big plus for me.  I like my team leader and using EXText has kept my line counts high.  I also have their insurance plan, it's United Healthcare and my family doc is on that plan.  Overall, I hope to stay with Medware as they really seem to care about me.  I also like the monthly newsletter they send out, it's the little things that set them apart from my old service.  Good luck to you.
Thanks so much for the wonderful advise. I accepted the position.

I accepted a position with a company last week. sm

How long does it take usually for a company to get you into training and typing after just being hired?  A week from your acceptance? Two weeks?   I'm waiting for equipment to arrive now.

TIA.

I accepted a position with a company last week
I was able to set up an appointment to start training after my software and equipment arrived also.  It was approximately 2 weeks after being hired on.  Don't get to worried.  They still have to run business as usual and it takes time getting training schedules and software set up.  I am so thankful that I switched from MQ .  I have been with my new company for 6 months now and wondering why the heck I didn't leave earlier.  Good luck.
I was offered a position, originally accepted it, but
than changed my mind.  They told me it would be about 2 weeks before I could work, but the account I was going to be working on was acute care and they needed to get me cleared through the hospital to be able to access their system and then I would have to go through setup.  The account I was offered as internet based - I think Dictaphone ExText.
Accepted a position with Focus Infomatics....
they sent me the Dictaphone footpedal, Stedmans Spellchecker, Electronic drug reference and Stedman's electronic dictionary.  Its been going on 2 weeks, and have not heard anything else.  I emailed HR a week ago, and they sent me a message that said  I’m sure that the recruiter had informed you that the hire date given doesn’t necessarily mean that it is the date you will start; the process can be lengthy.  I informed the platform  that you were ready for installation but please know that they may be overloaded.  Anyone else had this problem? They must do a lot of hiring and installations.
Great ... I just accepted a position with them. Guess this should sm
prove interesting ... LOL.
So, I just accepted a position with MDI-FI. Are there really people running out of work?
I need to know. I turned down a job at a hospital to accept this job at MDI because the pay was better, but if you do not have work, then there is no money so I might have been better off taking the hospital job...
I interviewed with them and accepted a position yesterday. Before the interview, sm
I received an email that spelled out their pay scale, approximate insurance rate for singles, etc.  The recruiter was great and answered all of my questions.  I have seen a lot of positive posts about the company, so I think (well, am hoping) I made a good choice. Good luck in whatever you decide!
That makes sense...I always give positive feedback and am very pleasant...
and have even had compliments given to my supervisor from other MTs about my job doing QA that I am pleasant...but I understand your frustration about some QA feeling they are better than others...:)
Want to hear POSITIVE information
Anyone willing to share?
I love it.. and I see and hear a lot of positive things...
I do not know why the poster below says to get everything in writing; I have been a part of Transcend since 2003 and I really do love it. No issues, good communication, good pay. I have been in this industry a long time and have heard (and seen firsthand) a lot of horror stories. You cannot please everyone, but my experience has been very good. Feel free to e-mail me directly
Awesome, it's so nice to hear from people who like their jobs and are positive.nm

Please take the position and be glad for this opportunity!
What a great opportunity! I have been with Webmedx for a while. They truly do help you to succeed as an MT, giving you all the necessary training with classes that will help you succeed. As for reaching the required line count, it may be easy for some and harder on others, but I truly believe if you are a new graduate and show continual improvement that you will be worked with until you reach the required goal; how long that is depends on your supervisor. I have had a great experience with Webmedx in helping me grow as an MT and would encourage any MT or new MT to be with Webmedx, as the benefits are good and they will provide the necessary tools to help you succeed. Lots of training classes for productivity tips, normal tips, ShortHand tips that you can take to help you along.
Glad to hear
you have another job already. Flossie is definitely a backstabber who will pretend to be your friend and then stab you when you least expect it.
Glad to hear it.
Wasn't sure from the way you worded your post.
I am glad to hear you say that...(sm)
It is nice to see someone with a professional attitude such as yours. I have just seen so much trashing of employers around here that it is no wonder that many times MTs are not taken seriously.
Glad to hear you are not looking any further at them...sm
FutureNet Technologies is a great place you may want to consider. Their pay is always on time and always correct. No benefits but the staff is great, pay is great and pay is on time and correct - that is benefit enough for me.

Glad to hear you are not looking further into Superior Global. It will save you a lot of headaches.

Hope you find a great place to call home!
Sorry to hear about the job, but glad

I am glad to hear about MDI-MD
Just starting there!  I hope everything works out with this company.
Glad to hear that!
I know some people LOVE it. Not me. Maybe if they'd keep the bad dictators off of it, but they're now putting everyone on it. You might be flying through 1 or 2 reports, and then all of a sudden get someone who definitely does not belong on VR. That messes up your line count for the whole day. Plus getting 30% less in pay. Like I said, I've only been doing this for 1 month, but my line count for VR has only gone up on average 30 lines daily. My straight-typing line count has gone down 40 lines daily. How could that be? These companies are messing with the statistics to make VR look better than it actually is, all the while paying less to the Transcriptionist for both VR and straight typing. I'm making now with VR(cpl)what I made in 1997 when I first was hired to work at home via internet. At least I have a job. Still, I feel defeated.
I'm glad to hear that
I just accepted a job with them.  I sent them a resume about 1-1/2 weeks ago, did not do the testing on that day because I didn't have time. Did testing last Saturday, called them on Monday and talked to the receptionist. Was thinking of giving them another call very soon but today they called me.  Good luck!
Glad to hear this.
Happy to hear that KS will not be giving in to Transcend. I don't care what kind of ranking they have, offshoring is bad news for us.

Between VR and offshoring, we will all end up at flea markets hocking our wares...but then again...you have to pay rent to get a table at the flea market. No money for that. Oh well.

I have too many fat rolls to work a corner. The gobs and gobs of folks in other industries who have lost jobs have already taken the fast food jobs. Guess I really need to come up with a plan.

Regarding the companies losing millions each year...I don't get it either.

Glad to hear that!
LOL, I keep wondering when the 'honeymoon' will end because it's just so astonishingly fantastic working there. I keep thinking it's too good to be true, but posts like yours help convince me that it is like being in MT heaven working for TT!!!
I'm rather glad to hear that, thanks!
I was suspicious because normally HR/recruitment personnel use their real name and their posts are MUCH more professional, such as thanking everyone for their interest, etc.

Glad to hear this may not be legitimate, because if it was, it would have been, IMO, a negative reflection on the company.

I was so glad to hear this!! They are a decent

a decent company despite the posts here.

Good for you! I am glad to hear that you
are a good recruiter, having no idea who you are, was only relaying MY experiences.  Sorry for those, such as you, who do your job well.  I have lost thousands of dollars depending on what was told to me by recruiters, and that is a fact.  If I would not have listened to the out and out lies, simple questions like, Will such and such an abbreviation Expander work with your system? and was told yes, when they had no clue if it would or not after I was hired and quit my other job.  As I said, good for you for being on the up and up and doing your job well.  And I agree, if I could quit MT today, I would run away as fast as I could!!!  Not only is your job thankless, but apparently OURS are TOO!!! Or at least I am given that impression but more than just ONE company!!!!!!
Glad to hear something good about them,
xx
Be glad you didn't hear.
Why? Stella and crew are psychopaths. You will pay them to use their software license to boot, won't be included in your contract, unless of course, my experience with them has changed that. I have a horror story to tell with this company, believe me.

The most controlling and thorougly unprofessional MTSO I have ever had the displeasure to work with. No wonder they are advertising...they can't keep good MTs.

Glad to hear that. Welcome aboard!
nm
so glad to hear that MTing has been sm
brought down to a profession of chump change by the newbies.
so glad to hear that MTing has been sm
brought down to a profession of chump change! You do the profession proud. NOT!
Glad to hear you are happy.
Maybe they save this behavior for their ICs. There is no reason for me to lie. They are threatening in the way they DEMAND that you work a set schedule, even though one is SUPPOSED to be an IC.

The micromanaging comes in when as an IC you don't log in exactly at the SCHEDULED time to work.

Bottom line, TTS does not respect the law when it comes to IC workers. Period. They will eventually be dealt with if they do not begin to follow the law.
Thank you! I am glad to hear that there is clinic work with SM

That's great - glad to hear you got response
I'm glad you posted a followup as I was wondering how it was going for you.
glad to hear there is still a good company out there...
xx
I am so sorry to hear that. I hope you find another position very soon.
