If you doubt progressive technology, remember
We've gone from typing in WP51 from cassette tapes, looking up words in a library of books rather than on Google, printing our own work and delivering it by courier to transcribing dictation directly into EMRs via internet-based software that was recorded on palm pilots. The extent of technology that we've seen in such a short time to me is amazing and scary at the same time. I also would like to think that there will be a long-term demand for editors (I am one), but common sense tells me to start thinking about a different avenue.

Alcoholism is a progressive disease. Your man will never resurface. nm

contact lens for astimgatism
I have the same problem. If you find any that works for you, let me know too. I also found that if I use allergy medicine, my eyes dont get as blurry. Do you also have allergies? The problem with soft contact lens and astigmatism is that the bend under pressure. They dont have enough support to keep the shape that is needed. I really wished I could have surgery. One of these years.
Multifocal contact lens

Anybody had success with multifocal contact lens?  Have been wearing mine a month now and still upclose vision not so clear.  I was told they were not having 100 % success with them, so I suppose I am one of those they are not so great for.   I love them for my distance, but still have to have readers for up close, which stinks.

My doc gave me one lens for close, one for far s/m
I LOVE them.  It's like a miracle.  I still sometimes have to use readers if I'm in a dim restaurant or somewhere with bad lighting, or if the print is tiny.  I have one lens that is for close up, and one for distance.
You can get clip-on magnifiying lens to put on your glasses, like clip-on sunglasses. nm
