I personally hate the idea of weeks -- secretaries week, MT week, etc. I throw all the stuff I get in the trash or give it back and explain why. I find I am respected more that way. The way I feel is if I am a valued employee to someone, then treat me as such year round and give me a raise if you can afford to do so so that I will stay in your employ. If I am not a valued employee, let me go and find some other place to work. Be honest and up-front with me. Then, if you do all that, and you still want to give me flowers or candy or whatever, it is a nice token. But I'd rather be treated fairly year-round instead of a gift one time a year. This comment is addressed to all companies, not yours as I do not have any idea who you are so please don't take it personally.
