I worked remotely but as a full-time employee of a local hospital doing radiology transcription. The supervisor was constantly revising templates (and invariably several would contain errors and would need to almost immediately be replaced) by email so that we could copy them and load them for immediate use.

It took one of the remote MTs about an hour one day to do this and, since the transcription was behind, we all received an email from the department manager about how we should take care of these things 'before or after your shift.'

I don't THINK so. I emailed her back and told her since it was work-related, I assumed by before or after our shift meant we would all be paid overtime for handling such things.

Never heard another word about doing work-related activities during our shift again.

They'll ALL try it apparently, just to see if they can get away with it. It's pretty revolting.
