Already spinning 2 different stories, huh?

NOT a good sign. We aren't allowed to post such information on the boards, or I would cut and paste the portion of the email I received from them about how they have NO part-time positions at this time; all positions are full time.

Since I obviously have nothing to regain by misleading anyone about PT/FT status, and I'm sure you have no reason to mislead anyone about PT/FT status, this leaves me with the obvious situation - They are placating everyone until the final drop shoe drops.

Sad but apparently true.

Head spinning

I am pullling my hair out trying to figure out pros and cons of the numerous companies that are out there.  I have read through numerous posts and have found them very helpful.

But, I have a few questions:

Has anyone heard of NorthWest Mediscript?  I think it is local to my area (Pacific Northwest).

I hear LOTS of good info on Transhealth.  Anyone have anything to add to this?

I have seen very little comments regarding Webmedx or Windrix.  Any thoughts or comments?

Basically on these companies what is your opinion on how you have been treated?  Did you have plenty of work?  How did you like the platforms?  Were they flexible in terms of hours?  Were you bounced around from account to account and doctor to doctor or were you allowed to stick with a certain few and familiarize yourself with them so that you could become proficient at them?

Feel free to email me with any info.  Any pro or con would be greatly appreciated.

I think I will soon be taking the plunge and diving in and just start contacting companies that I have narrowed it down to.

I tell you what, the mass of choices makes my head spin.

New to WMX...spinning my wheels
My first week: On Monday, transcription access not set up properly, same thing on Tues and Wednesday, on Thursday no work at all. On Monday afternoon I had 3 accounts, Monday night they gave me #4, Tuesday afternoon I had #5...on Wednesday they added #6. I have 6 accounts...why so many? And still no work?

Recruiter hired me for early day schedule. Manager says there's not usually much work in the mornings and I might want to work a different schedule, but that's up to me.

I'm not on Enterprise...maybe Enterprise would be less frustrating?

Anyone else having same or similar experience? Wondering if I should stick with this or move on ASAP...
my head is still spinning...nm

Where did you hear the stories about pay and equipment?  Can you expand on that?
Thanks all for telling your stories about
these companies. I have been looking for a new job and have applied at 10 the past week with only All Type responding. Guess I will not even bother testing.

I appreciate learning from the experiences of others. It avoids a lot of heartache that way.
yeah, and the stories you get when you ask -- sm
your everything is at risk and you need/want/deserve to know the situation they put you in because you are the type of person that makes EDUCATED, LEVEL-HEADED decisions in life - and they 'do the dance.' (put your right foot in, take your right foot out...shake it all about.

just what part of 'I asked because I'm NOT stupid' do they not get? True hokey-pokey for me is they think I buy what they're selling.

I have heard some horror stories
about exactly what you are saying. So, when I called Verizon, I made sure I told them exactly what I would be using the LD for and approximately how many minutes I would be using per month. They told me, No problem, it is unlimited, so that made me feel a little better. I thought maybe you meant technical problems, like disconnecting too often. I do think it is important to just be up front with the LD companies to help avoid those little suprises!

These stories warm my heart
which is maybe why I love helping people.  Had the people who were my mentors  not been so kind, I would never have achieved the success I achieved in the MT world.  They gave me knowledge that no MT school could ever provide. I could never be arrogant or try to put anyone down, I remember too well what it was like to be a newbie even though it was nearly half a century ago.
She's a sweet lady. She has a lot of experience and a lot of stories that go with it.
I like her a lot, but I can kind of see where you are coming from, as whenever I've spoken with her I could pretty much write off the next 60-90 minutes. It was a great time to clean out email, though! (And if you are reading this, you-know-who, it's not a criticism but rather an acknowledgement that you have a LOT of stories to tell!)
Horror stories about cheap transcription
FYI, there is always someone out there who is willing to do transcription and/or editing cheaper than someone else. There are those clients who only look at the bottom line cost. But they must employ sometimes at least three people in-house to make the corrections. I wonder if anyone at the client source ever looks at the overall costs to get that report on the chart and done correctly. I am amazed at how some transcriptions even stay in business. Just my $.02 worth.
I think you should write novels or short stories :-) nm

I find it extremely odd how people from the same office seem to have such different stories. How do
you explain that. I hear many people complaining about work at MQ and Buffalo and having many different accounts so I do think you are damage control. Sorry.
It was during the summer, I think. Maybe you can access old stories from your local newspaper on

Consider yourself a free bird and move on. Lots of stories like this out here in MT land. nm
