Can I do anything about this?

I worked for a company for 2 days. I was actually working for 2 at the same time, trying to decide which I preferred. I made my choice and notified the other company that I was terribly sorry, but that I had decided to go with the other company. They were extremely nasty about it, telling me that they spent a lot of money on my training, which actually was a half hour of very poor training. So, here I am 3 days after the supposed pay day with no check. Am I wrong in expecting my money for 2 days of work, even though I decided not to stay with them? I wrote and asked about it and got no reply. I am steaming right now!
