No slowdown here
I have two part-time jobs. One was crazy busy right up until Xmas and has only slowed down a little this week. Lots of people getting surgeries before end of year when deductibles are already met, etc. Docs also catching up on some old dictations. Other job with MTSO also busy, but my account is a HUGE hospital that never runs out of work.
How bad was the holiday slowdown?

just a day.. or a few days??

Despite the slowdown of work...
I still manage to always get over 13,000 lines.  Have to work a few extra hours for that, but need to pay my bills, so do what I have to.  At this point, with the way things seem to be out there, I am grateful to have a job.
Not to mention the major software slowdown

I understand that, but tis the nature of this profession to expect a slowdown sm

with major holidays -- Christmas, Thanksgiving, 4th of July, Labor Day, etc.  Patients do not go in for elective procedures, docs take time off, etc.  That's just part of the game.  I just try to put a little aside during the feast times to prepare for the famine times.

I think you should give them a chance.  They are good people and they do care.  I doubt you'll find ANY place that has a constant flow of work, 24/7.  If you, please let us all know so we can enjoy too.
