Have done both MT and QA and

I prefer transcribing to QA.  I can earn much more as an MT than QA.  As QA, it got to the point where it would just have been easier to transcribe the whole report myself and get paid per line for it rather than to correct all the mistakes, deal with giving feedback to the transcriptionist, etc., etc. and only get paid a per hour rate.

That was my experience, for what it's worth!
