Just wanted you to know that I am listening to you.

$40...hmm. So...am I to expect this rental figure to go up at some point?

That's still cheaper than what I was paying previously and for older equipment there, not brand new stuff with extra software that I used to have to pay for out of pocket...but I'm listening. :)

Yeah, the shift thing does seem to be a concern.

Where I was, though, your PTO didn't start accruing until after you reached full-time status, and then it took one year to get any time off at all, so all-in-all, that was about 1-1/4 years before you could use it, nothing per business quarter, etc. There was no PTO for part time...period.

I will take what you say into consideration, though, thanks for your input.:)

Listening to you
I do not think it is illegal. First are you an independent or an employee? Are you working certain hrs or flexing anyway? How long now have you waited on work?
Companies, are you listening?

I am leaving my company because they just don't listen to their MTs.  If we make a single comment it is ignored and/or shot down.  Those who never say a word are the ones rewarded in various ways, even when their work is just terrible and they don't lift a finger to help out in times of crisis.  If our work is near perfect but we dare express an opinion we are forever blacklisted.

I want to know if there is a single company out there that appreciates the MTs who have experience and ideas that could be very useful in the overall scheme of things.  I can't understand for the life of me why people who actually have something to say don't seem to belong in a national transcription company where the big guns sadly have no room inside their big heads for new ideas.

Any takers?

You're Not Listening!!!!!
It already HAS happened to a big majority of us on this board.

What makes you think this crisis only happened when it happened to YOU?!

The REST of us - you know - the ones NOT kvetching about this latest merger - were sharp enough to find other positions, or other careers, or our own clients.

I just LOVE how you MDIers think you're the only ones this has happened to, and that somehow the rest of us will get ours and then be sorry for not showering you with pity.

Sounds like it's you MDIers who have missed the reality train. So now that life has caught up with you, you're all in crisis mode.

You're just late to the party. But the party's not about you! It's the entire industry. Either deal with it or don't. Makes no nevermind to me.
how about listening to an entire conversation -
either on the telephone or to someone else in the room, you have to listen to make sure he doesn't remember to start back on his note.  I even heard a conversation about myself when I was in a hospital setting. They haven't a clue what is recording.
Listening to this drivel is making me ill
Wow. As a one time I love OSIer, I get a real bad feeling about the arrogance of these people now.
I do the same. I am constantly looking at the screen while listening and transcribing. sm
I can't even imagine having to go over every single word again.  It is easy to proof while you transcribe.  If there was something particularly difficult or troubling, I would go over that portion again, but never the entire thing.
*correction* tech support was like listening to the worst
