I cannot figure this one out. I have applied TWICE at eTransPlus

and nothing.  I applied a couple of weeks and heard nothing.  It's not like I do not have experience; I have over 16 years.  So, I see another ad and figure maybe they just did not get my other resume so I apply to this ad with my resume AGAIN and nothing. Now today, I see they are posting it again. HELLOOOOO, was it something I said??...LOL. What are these companies looking for that I may not have. I've done acute care 8 years.  Has anyone else had these happen? I'm just scratching my head on this one. I'm not perfect by any means but I would have at least thought I would have gotten some response but they do seem like they really want to find someone.  I feel offended LOL

Can I asked when you applied? I applied a few weeks ago
and never heard a word and I have over 16 years of experience. I applied because I got a recommendation from a friend of a friend who loves working there..Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get anymore details other than that.  I'm all for even one positive at this point on this frustrating job search. Good luck to you though and check back with us to tell us how the interview went etc. Thanks
No. I applied, but I've applied SM

at a lot of places lately.  I got an e-mail from a lady whose name starts with an M, but she didn't identify her company in the letter.  She had my resume on the bottom of her e-mail, so I know it's someone I applied with, but I don't know which one!!  LOL  I'm thinking it's The Word Pros.  Anyone else apply to The Word Pros and get an e-mail from M?

I'd love to hear information about them as well.

Just Me

I know how to figure it,
how do you qualify for it? The account I work on never offers that, the most they offer is an additional 0.05 per line when they are behind.
Let's figure this out. sm
I am currently working for 10.5 cents per line, equipment furnished, and I get two weeks PTO per year, plus health insurance for $21.00 a payday and that insurance includes health/dental/vision/life, and direct deposit.  Compare that to FN, no insurance, no bennies, no direct deposit and, at most, 10 cents per line.  There are several small MTSOs out there who provide benefits and pay as I am describing here.  Why in the world would you work for a company who provides no benefits at all, not even direct deposit, for 10 cents a line?  I just don't get it.
I don't think anybody has been able to figure that out yet
You'll find a few people posting that it didn't affect their line count, but the majority of posters did lose big going to the platform.
Nothing to figure out, really. sm
They no longer pay for demographic info, headers (client letterhead), footers (signature line and DD/DT block/initials), CCs, etc. Add that all up times each page and that is a lot of lost lines, possibly hundreds of lines per day.
GO FIGURE!!! That is what is
what is wrong with our society, no one wants responsibility for there own actions. If you screwed up, and I know for a fact that some of you were not doing your work, because i am the MT that turned you in, then take responsibilty for your screw up. Quit blaming everyone at Shapin for your laziness. And now that your gone, I have your job and I absolutely love it. So I guess I owe you a thank you.
Not sure how you figure that one
Never heard this one before - trying to convert minutes to lines!

.9/line is not a bad rate, depending of course on the specifics of the work (type, difficulty of dictators, TAT, etc.

200 minutes could actually be very few lines if the dictator is a pauser... or a lot of work if they dictate like Robin Williams talks...

Ask for more details.

How do you figure your cpl?
How do you figure your cpl for editing?  I don't get it.
D&L - go figure
Poor them, to hear them tell it, every body is lying on them and telling stories. I do not understand how they have Transcriptionist working for them. I have not heard a one that has gotten a check on time and one that they know will clear. Living from paycheck to paycheck and fearing a bounced check would scare me off for sure. Yes they have client's - they do not know what is going on - but I say let the owners type the reports, for sure the clients would not last a week with her skills. Everybody complains, but they remain there - can I just ask why - i would rather work for less than work and worry about a check.
here's the way I figure it

Okay, so 45 minutes of dictation equal 2700 seconds, say 1 hour per 1000-1200 seconds on average typing between 150 to 200 lph, counting referencing time and proofing time, I would say about 2-2-1/2 hours average of actual transcribing time.

It would seem that if you can't figure sm
out correctly how to calculate $25 an hour, you're not going to be able to reach that.
how do you figure that? If i'm doing less
the company makes less off of me as well.

Cheating out of money would more likely come from charging the client by the line and paying the Transcriptionist per report, among other ways.
Hon, if you can't figure out how to
do that, you need to work on your computer skills - LOL.
I figure...
...NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS! I would assume that I am doing such a good job that they have no reason to contact me.
how do you figure that?
Just curious
what I can't figure out is why any sm
interviewer/supervisor/owner or whatever would even tell that story to an employee much less a new-hire. I sometimes wonder if folks just do that to make themselves sound important. Personally I could not care less what goes on with other employees. I do my work, do it well and expect a paycheck. If that doesn't happen, then I am outta there.
you can figure that one out. Just figure sm
out what you make working at home and the number of hours your put in to make it. Compare that with the hourly wage in a facility. Most facilities still pay hourly and some have incentive plans.
I figure around
30-35% for all taxes.. For myself, I figure I'm saving gas, clothes, time, and car repairs by being an IC at home.
eTransPlus

Since it seems to work when I post a reply I'll ask my question here. I saw in the archives 5 posts on eTransPlus that were all favorable. But the last one was in March 2005. If anyone still works there can you just e-mail me or reply to this?? I was wondering about their pay and flexibility with scheduling. I know sometimes we just have to "take the plunge" but I want to just see if I can find out if things were still pretty smooth there.  Thanks.

Month we were running out of work, didnt hear from supervisors at all when inquired about getting another account, after emailing them several times. Now that there is a very high backload, we're getting emails from them. eTransPlus have gone and is going through changes. The way we get paid has changed. It is now on a graduated scale- So, if you want to make at least 9cpl, you will have to produce 1601 lines per day- If you're not a high producer, don't expect to get more than 6 or 7 cpl.
eTransPlus
Thanks..it sounds like it's not too bad if there's plenty of work..I'll probably end up staying put.....  thanks again!!
etransplus
If you want to work for crooks and liars, you can work for them, but you will constantly run out of work and they will make promises to you until they are blue in the face and you have to file bankruptcy.  They don't care about you as the main person behind their business success, you are just a number, and  they will send you insulting gifts just to let you know how much you really are appreciated.  So all I saw is beware and don't put all your eggs in the EtransPlus basket for goodness sake.
eTransPlus
I appreciate the info..I'll stay put for a while!!   thanks much!
ETransPlus
They have had an ad for radiology people for a new account.
eTransPlus
You want JS to email you?

Any information about this company would be appreciated.  I sent my resume yesterday, and within two hours had been called and offered a job.  Sounds great, but it all happened so fast, I have not had time to find out anything about the company, specifically, do they communicate with their MTs, do they run out of work, and do they have a platform where you can make decent money.

eTransPlus
Thank you for the reply. I too did a search but could not find anything recent. As you know, in this business, things change so often, a company that was running out of work six months ago could be overloaded now. As well the management could have changed five times since then! But, thanks for the suggestion.
etransplus
They have re-record and you cannot hear the jobs. The people are nice enough, but you just can't hear the work.
Etransplus...anyone currently there? sm
I am currently looking towards going back home to work and would like any input on Etransplus, Is the health insurance any good?  It would be just for me.  Is there any flexibility throughout day, do they pay shift premium?  Thanks!
ETransPlus

Any current happy campers?  I did a search but everything seems to be at least a year old.

EtransPlus???
Any updates on this company?  I read some prior posts back in 2005 and was wondering if things have changed.  Thanks for any input as I am thinking of making a change.
eTransPlus
I work for eTransPlus and I love it there.  Would definitely recommend it!
eTransPlus
Does anyone work for these people and if so, what info can you share?  Thank you.
eTransPlus sm
I work for eTrans and love it. I don't use ExText, so I don't know how that is set up. They do not have ASR and do not offshore. I've been with them for 6 months now and was with the Q before that and absolutely love it here.
eTransPlus
Anyone know anything about eTransPlus?
etransplus
I've worked for eTransPlus for about 6 months. Usually plenty of work, paid on time, etc. I didn't take out the insurance though, so don't know if that is worth it or not.
eTransPlus
Anyone who has applied at eTransPlus heard from them yet? I am getting anxious. My current is going to VR and I really don't want to to that. I much prefer straight transcription.
RE: Etransplus
Anyone currently working for Etransplus?  Any experience with their Propietary (?) platform?  TIA
Anybody know anything about etransplus? nm

Would like to know if eTransPlus workers have any trouble getting a decent line count so they make a good cpl rate because of the tiered way of paying?  Overall, do you think they are a good company to work for?  Thanks for your help.
eTransplus
Is anyone a current employee of this company?  Thanks!
eTransplus

could you email me at gin3tac@yahoo.com  ?  Thanks!

eTransPlus

Does anyone work for this company?  It seems like they post job openings every other day and I was just curious as to why.  Do they overhire?  Are they really that busy?  Are they a good company to work for?

TIA

Etransplus.........sm
I was considering them, but really do NOT like that tiered pay thing. Does anyone work there or have worked there share to comment? Thanks.
ETransPlus

Are there any MTs out there who work for Etrans that get a decent line count lately? I am so tired of these piddley paychecks I keep receiving after sitting here for 40 hours a week with very little work! I can't even remember the last time I got 10,000 lines in a pay period. Just wondering if it's just ME. I could be out picking up tin cans on the side of the road and make a better living!

Trying to figure out why you would come here with those problems.
nm
I can figure out the percentage, but...
How does one go about figuring their estimated tax?

According to what I've read on the IRS site, we have to pay estimated taxes. Well, great. I can estimate my income at what I'm making now, just starting out, but I don't see my income staying this low, so I would eventually be underpaying. I could estimate it at a higher amount, but what if I don't make as much as I think or hope I will? I can see where getting a refund is a good thing, but I'm more worried about underpaying.

Do you pay the tax on what you've ACTUALLY made in a quarter (it kind of sounds like it) or do you go about estimating your income, say you figure you'll make $20k a year, and put 25% of that away?

Confused.
Just figure out average of how much (sm)
you have made per hour for the last, say 24 weeks.  If you consistently make under $15, I'd go for the salary.  If I was over most of the time, I'd go for production.  Figure out what would be a fair amount of time to go back.  Good luck.
You WHAT???? That's your paycheck. You should figure it out on your own. sm
Do they hold your hand all day too?
Figure this, if you did 300 lph, it would be a whopping
300 x 1.5 equals $4.50, less than minimum wage and many times when you have Filipino MTs as well as offshore MTs, everything is 100% listen so it might be difficult to get more than 300 lines an hour, but let's say you could do 400 lines an hour, that is 3200 lines a day, that would be a whopping $47

QA editors are specialists in our field and this stinks to say the least
